il be picking some up from RA ciaran if you let me know what your after
Just need enough to raise the octane to the 99 ron in each tank. Get about 150 miles to a tank when trying. Just get me about 10 bottles and I am sure that will be plenty
-
And the good news is car all fixed and ready to go
Has anybody who is going got a good supply of octane booster they fancy lending me as i forgot to order it and it is bank holiday so no chance of even ordering this to get it in time
-
Hard lines Peter, no scandal to spread! ;-)
Wilky behave min no need a being a crock

Slight change of plan!!!
Dual AVCS will hopefuly be ditched so long as I can utalise my old AVCS and exhaust pulleys with the cams I have. Also going to fit the Zen dry sump system, big turbo and hopefuly big injectors.
Spoke to Playsatan a while back reguarding the fuel setup so will need to look further into this
So its back into the shed to see if I can find my old parts then engine out over the weekend to reverse engineer the heads
Graeme
FFS hurry up. I recon big AVCS heads are the the way ahead.........
And you still not fitted the sump you complained about being late for months.....

"My AP racing clutch will be fine" he said...
Anyone able to tow a trailer for when Ciaran carks it in Wick?
Showing your lack of knowledge when you think the release bearing and the AP clutch are the same thing The clutch is braw and good for at least another 2k lol
And after my stupid comment the problem is.................................... the pressure plate ie. Clutch

Chris
Should get you 280bhp (from what 215?) and it makes the car drive a whole lot smoother etc.
So I would say it would be very noticeable.
May be worth buying a high flow panel filter before you get mapped though
-
Ciaran, whats your record for managing to keep an impreza running? 3 weeks?
I have done 2k in the car and it's only the 4th time it has broken. Once the gearbox, once the fuel pump, the immobiliser and now the clutch release bearing
I think it's time for a new daily hack and the Impreza can be for weekends
-
I have broken my car again
Hopefully just the clutch release bearing we will find out when i get the box off tomorrow.

thanks lads.
Finally got the rear bumper fitted tonight ready for the MOT on friday then its on the road, just the suspenion to fit & set up then the project is complete.
Couple of pics took with my phone.
Looks awesome but you just leaving the engine as is?
-
You sure about that Ciaran???
What makes cars move Lewis??? Torque my 333 lb/ft trq V's your 290 lb/ft trq
Even with your 20% error theory that makes the difference greater. Also sussed my problem we will see

There ARE others... A stripped out interior only saves SO much weight y'know *chuckle*
Oy HG?????
I would have to remove my whole interior to compensate for the Methanol in the boot
-
It will be the rear shocks a very common problem on hawkeyes
-
I run Goodyear eagle F1's on all my cars have to be the best all round tyre I have found.
-
lol good figures Lewis should be pretty similar between me and you now then. Well as long as you can drive that is. 3rd gear slides overtaking cars in the rain is the way ahead
Dave your not exactly a slim jim yourself

It is worth getting a new standard crank and getting updated rods, pistons, bearings, head bolts and head gaskets. SW motorsport are used by slot of people on here buy your still looking at a £3k bill for a standard and probably £4kish for what mentioned above although it is future prodding in my eyes.
PM me a price you would take for the car as it is if you wish

Worst that can happen is he would have to drive a hatch all weekend
-
Im 27 6NCD and £700 on a 400/400 V2 sti all mods declared with 24 year old partner also insured (it went up to £900 if i took her off even though she won't drive it)
-
It will just be condensation mine does it as well but only sometimes. ie when its cold
-
they will do both and use uprated gaskets and head bolts, think its engine out job anyway so being as well doing both, got quote of £1566 all in, moving house on friday so car will just have to wait lol
It is an engine out job
Sounds pretty expensive to just take the engine out remove the heads have them skimmed and refit with uprated studs and gaskets and then re-fit it all or are they doing other stuff as well?
-
Sweet keep the pics coming as I will be asking Barry to do my cage once i pull my finger out and get the shell rolling
-
Sounds like an air lock try bleeding the system.
Basically take the cap off the coolent header tank (when the car is cold) and start the car and let it run while you go around and squeeze the coolent hoses.

I run Methanol as well I recon 4 jerry cans of that in the boot is bad enough without cans of V-power as well
