I was planning on buying another inlet manifold to clean up and replace on my Uk 2000, because mine is minging!
Is there any differences in port sizes between mine/WRX/Sti etc etc?
Cheers in advance! Ryan.

Looks like I'm off to get a Meercat in the first week or so of newyear, as long as my bank balance allows! Got to get two new rear tyres and a standard down-pipe cat
I would rather wait for a decent exhaust than spunk it on a ****er!
Cheers everyone!

You've all made me start thinking over and over again! A guy in work recommended RMS in Ayrshire, if anyone knows anything about them?
The exhaust on mine at the moment is a de-cat downpipe, straight through centre and big **** off jap-can rear. I absolutely hate it!!!
Previous owner had it installed at the cost £320, got ripped off by the looks of it.
Cheers for all your input, now ive got to go away and have another think

Im looking to buy a new exhaust at the end of this month. I currently have a custom made exhaust, but's poor quality and too noisy for my liking. Dont think it's doing any favours performance wise.
I've narrowed it down to a Haywood & Scott with the Afterburner de-cat centre section. Not a bad price for both and seem to be good quality.
Anyone got any views or suggestions on other makes before I buy?
Cheers folks, Ryan.

Good good figure! I wouldnt sniff at 400bhp+, I would be happy for 280bhp. Andy F seems to be the daddy for Scooby re-maps!

welcome bud, nice motor. have a good stay!

Better volumetric efficiency for your engine, as there is a greater area for heat dissipation. Running a small turbo would create more lag due to the larger/longer pipework?
-
Will keep my eye out round the North of Glasgow (West Dumbartonshire) as I'm there just now. Not many Impreza's round here tho thankfully.
Grips my **** little fanny's in stolen cars or not insured. Reason insurance for younger people like me is on the hefty side

Anyones off here? Looked nice apart from the rear lights, had alot of www.scoobybits.co.uk stickers all over it!? Really didnt do it any justice.
-
Thats what it mostly is then, just self satisfaction. Probably wont bother with intercooler spray but I may look into a oil cooler just for good measure.
Cheers, for all your help!

Insurance always over estimate, the amount of work you could do yourself and get the parts cheaper. Insurance has to go by book price for labour/parts.
I crashed my Escort GTi and an insurance investigator wanted £2K for repairs without a re-spray. Ended up costing me £600 to get it all ship-shape (obviously didnt notify insurance, because only me involved and no damage to surroundings).
But just how it goes, im not too far if your needing help, but then again it is Aberdeen distance.

Have a look on Andy Forrest's website he lists the different years and models of impreza and the mods to do to them and the hp increase with these mods
Had a look, good information on that site, especially about the difference in size of Turbo's. Never heard of 16G, 18G, etc, until I bought a Subaru.
I fancy a FMIC, but for two reasons I've held back, the cutting away at the bumper to fit (loosing the OE look) and the Turbo lag from the extra pipework?
After a re-map this should all be fine though. Im aiming for a nice 280-300bhp once the mods are on and it's re-map'd. Fingers crossed!

Come on, someone must have fitted these??

I have a 1993 Subaru Impreza WRX Estate 2l. This car was an automatic but has previously been changed to a manual. There are two faults with it and i was looking for some advice on what could be wrong.
Firstly, there is a miss fire between 2000 and 2500 revs and the check engine light comes on too.
Secondly when you are in fourth or fifth it makes a noise as if the gear box is going into overdrive or the clutch is slipping.
An advice greatly appreciated.
I'm not a wealth of knowledge on Subaru's, but did you change the ECU from Auto to Manual. From experience on Fords, they run two completely different types of ECU for each application? Thats about the only thing I could think that would make a difference.

Yeah, I've just spoke to him now, says to tell you 'hello there,' he remembers when this photo was taken on the last sal for LR5 off Lochalsh.
Remember the hassle with the IROV Spread. He's a big geek - a newer member of the crew, Tony Pope, back from Korea this week with DSAR5.

Looking at future mods to my MY00, been advised to fit an oil cooler, so wondered if anyone has had any experience good/bad on some brands?
Also, looking to fit the Intercooler spray feature from the imports? Any advantage from them, or not worth the bother?
Cheers, Ryan!

Am I right in thinking that the later Classics (MY99,00,01) had larger 550cc injectors, which is one of the factors it has 8ps more??
Would make my life easier if they did! I have a MY00 UK 2000 Turbo.

Ryan keep an eye on the events page of the scottish section. I mainly go to the meetings in stirling cause its a bit closer for me.
I dont mind a drive if the meet is going to be a good turn-out, I have to drive through Stirling to my parents anyway, so not a bother for me.

Oh right, I take it he works with LR5 / LR6?
Sounds about right, been upto the workshop but that was a month or two ago? Do you have much to do with them?
Paul555sti - Cheers mate, yeah another Fife represent, is there many meets around here?
-
Welcome to the club mate, nice looking car.

Morning to all,
Seen a link for here from ScoobyNet, looks like a busier site which is good. Just bought my first Scooby - MY00 2000 Turbo in Mica Green. Standard apart from a custom exhaust - which I dont like!
Here's after a wash (got dark by the time I was finished.
I'm from Balloch over the West Coast, but live in Leuchars, Fife, now due to my work.
jonboywrx - I'm sure i've seen you once or twice in Leuchars if you own a Mica Green 2000 with a the STi spoiler.
Used to be into my fords, still own my Escort Si which is being stripped at the moment for a cheap track car, used to look like this until recently.
Well thats about it, looking forward to a few meets and getting some mods done to my Scooby after new year!
Cheers, Ryan.
