if not where did your forementioned turbos come from ie second hand , new ,is it safe to go second hand .To me it looks like the general consensus is to go with a vf model can these be reconditioned ? who sells them i have done searches on the net can't seem to find them .Sorry for the questions and thanks again

    cheers kenny

  2. Howdy Kenneth.

More power? Have you ditched the better stopping in favour of more speed? Tut tut, it'll be fun tho'!!!

I laughed at the title of your thread son, it made me have some unusual images in my head!:icon_salut:

Well done Barry you were the only one to spot and answer to my Freudian slip ( maybe we could discuss some counselling at the meet sort out those issues :D

    cheers kenny

  3. Dunno much about the 20G so can't comment but you will defo get what you are after with either the 34 or 35. AFAIK, the 20G takes a bit longer to spool up whereas the other options come online a bit quicker.

Hi john mate this was from an e-mail from Andy Forrest ,not to me though.

I would go for the 20g . It spools up just as quickly as a VF34 but can make more BHP.

  6. Noise isn't an issue, it's pretty noisey as it is. It's not a daily runner.

Every 10kgs worth 2.2 bhp so it's better than you think  . Seriously though, we all know how much a passenger blunts the performance of a car, if I can shave 80kgs from the car, it's gonna be better. Success ballast in touring cars is only 40kgs, and that slows them down. Every little counts for performance no?

Kenny, dream on sunshine, less weight = better stopping so the diet is effectively giving me a six pot upgrade for free ;)

well welll be like that, i'm going to lie on the floor bang my hands and feet and hold my breath THATS NOT FAIR

    cheers kenny

ps .hope you get the car the way you want it

  7. Has anyone any idea how much weight can be trimmed from the MY05 STi by removing the interior, a/c, electric windows, boot stuff, sound deadening, poss air bags, etc etc?

Anyone done it and know how much?

Certainly makes a noticeable difference carrying passengers so maybe theres a good 60kg to be saved? Or more?

Most definitely your calipers ,they need to be replaced with something lightweight my friend :thumbup:

    cheers kenny

  12. Totally agree Scott the AP's on my car were the best 2.5k+ i ever spent,

Kenny if you keep a look out in the For Sale section at the weekend i will be putting a full set of 6 Pot AP's 355mm front and 330mm rears with Black Calipers which have only done 500 miles all road use.

Taking photos when i get home tomorrow night and will pop the advert up ASAP.

They will be priced very fairly for a quick sale!

    Regards

    ScottyB

  13. Looking good mate B) and i hope you get to enjoy all the benefits from the STI .I have followed this thread and i know you have looked at this

from a practical side . have pondered the idea of getting an STI myself as the cost of upgrading against the STI but i really like the look of my UK300 so i will just up the power to circa 300bhp and be happy

    cheers kenny
