  1. They look nice and glow in the dark but on a lightly modified Scooby do I really need them.

Had boost, oil pressure and oil temp on my last one but never really paid much attention to them.

Would the old PSI3 monitor be a better alternative or is there any new monitors available.

With the PSI3 you would still need sensors for the oil temp and oil pressure.

  2. That's probably the sort of thing I'm going to have to go for.. I've been looking on and off for a couple of years for the right stuff. And the bulders stuff is closer to the mesh size I want. Easy to get small diamond or hexagon stuff but really want the large holes. Most of the industrual stuff I came acros before was a bit rough for looks, and would require painting/coated black.. Would be nice to be able to get a supplier of the right stuff that the proper grills are made of. :o

    Good suggestion though

Sorry for the hijack, well not really because i then have to scroll down and burn my eyes with the shine :music:

Al i know someone who got some mesh and i said it looked just like a plasticote lath, will find out and give you a shout.

  3. I'm noting also the the second of the 2 steering locks are listed as Thatch am approved too by the way...

Thanks Dale :thumb up: Have had experience with the first stop lock  the lock itself is made up with little steel barrels ,you know the key kind of looks like a crown (well i think so).Well one of them came loose inside and i could not get the key in .....Que the panic...took a while but eventually got a needle and managed to get it back into place, lock open and straight into the bin.

Thatch am approved one looks good ,will also look into the disc lock...

  5. After a long wait, my terzo is back on the road and oh how i've missed it.

Back in december the engine started knocking so it had to come off the road. Nightmare!

Untill i decided what was for the best i bought an N reg corsa to do the daily journeys which did the job but

just didn't leave me with the same feeling after driving.

In the 7 months i forgot what it was like driving a subaru, now i've got it back on the road i'm smiling all day knowing

i'll soon be driving it home again.

  6. To be honst, other than a big rottweiler not much.. Perhaps CCTV can help if it's hidden, but IIRC it's not legal evidence unless the criminals are notified of the CCTV being there. perhaps someone can correct me on this...

Things like disc locks and stuff only deter some of the casual thefts... Professioanls can break through these surprisingly quickly.. And it's been publicised in the past that it gives the impression the car is work somethign and can often be targeted as a result! Even things like trackers have been known to be disabled by pro's.

The older imrpezas which seem to be whats targeted here are more vulnerable as the alarm immobiliser systems are not as secure as the newer ones..

hence why most modern car thefts these days, they go for the keys..

theFastOne, put up a pretty good post about this yesterday:

Thanks Al ,just read Dales post .I was only thinking of it as a deterent as i know that these things are not good for the pro's,ingeneral terms a lot seems to be the opportunist car theif.Does the disc lock not carry some sort of insurance approved certificate ????

  7. Depends on what you are looking for ,how specific or just one close enough.I got my plate from the DVLA ,have you tried them as a lot of company's will advertise the plate on there site even if it is on the DVLA site .This would mean paying an inflated price ,mine was £250 that includes the assignment fee too :D

  8. Did all my power gains last year so I've been trying to come up with ideas for this year!!! :rotfl:

As per recent threads, I've just tarted up my engine bay with silicone hoses.

Got my wheels refurbed in the Alfa grey

Can't remember if it was this year that I put on my splitter and grille kit ;)

Put front and rear strut braces on

And finally today.....I guess it's not really a mod.....but treated the car to some Kenny Brown geometry

    set up magic.

Car felt good as soon as I drove off :rotfl:

Oh....and like Kenny, I'm with KM and my insurance was down this year

How much was Mr Brown Richie?

  9. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ What he has done, more ponies^^^^^^^^^^^^

    Brakes,Brembo's

Anti-roll bars and drop links (front, rear)

    Coilovers

    Rollcentre adjust kit

    Anti lift kit

    Walbro 255pl pump

    STI topmount with undertray

    STI pink injectors

    VF34 turbo

3" full system with sports cat downpipe

    PSI3 data monitor

    Think that is all ;)

Have to say the insurance did not change. Infact £10 down from last year with power up from 245 to 347 bhp and an SP 50.
