  1. Hiya

Aye the car needs to be clean for the cover to go on it, the storm force one I use has 2 clips and straps that go underneath to stop it blowing away, it also has a plastic covered steel cord that goes underneath that allows the cover to be padlocked to stop it from being pinched.

The front end sometimes does lift off the car when it is blowing a gale if the straps are not tight enough.

    Hope this helps

    John

    Cheers John.

Aye, it was the Storm Force item I was considering - looks like a quality item.

  2. ha they so do......... ken, like, eh ;)

I'll trade a "like ken" and a "ken eh" for your "by de way" and a "so it is"...

It's all relative - the west coast banter sounds just as twee and cute to us as the east coast stuff does to you guys/gals ;)

(Even if yeese do sound like ye toke on helium for breakfast - haw haw).

  3. Come on, you guys in the East have the gay accent...
Yes, quite unlike that high-pitched, nasal and frankly eunuch-like Strathclyde twang ;)

Must be the wet weather that prevents yer Devina McCalls from dropping until you reach retirement age ;)

  4. The V LTD has been an exceptional wee car for myself and was loathed to get rid, unfortunately it needed a bit of money spent on it so decided to trade it in.

I am very happy with my new 57 plate STi however the V-Ltd (Because of the mods I had done is a quicker car) It also drives better by that I mean, you point it where you want it to go and it goes, it feels solid underneath you and gives you confidence in its ability.

I have only had tyhe Sti for over a week now, it has been modded 380ish bhp, find it a bit twitchy underneath and its defo not as quick off the mark!

Gav at Greives has my old V LTD at the moment and reckons its pretty quick too. (Look at Gavs post for wanted items (lights & rear bumper), he was out in it last night)

Had the car 4 years spent a fortune on it and it didnt let me down once.

Had a look at various motors before I traded my car and everytime I tried to make a decision the sensible thing was a scooby, you just cant fault them.

Cheers - sounds like the V LTD was a great car.

  5. yup nitrided crank with better oil flow, wider track (you can tell by the little spats on the rear wheel arches), dccd (in UK anyway), 114.3 pcd with wider alloys and uprated hubs, removal of some big rubber bush thing from steering column to supposidly give better steering responce and updated interior amongst others.

Engine good for High 400's as long as your sparkplugs dont fall to bits B)

    Graeme

Cheers for the info Graeme and for quelling my curiosity, you truly are a walking Impreza spec. sheet :icon_salut:

(No doubt if I'd asked the same question over on ScoobyNet they'd have called my mother a libidinous wh0re or worse ;)).

  6. 1 - 6 are classics, 7 is a bugeye and 8 and 9 are blobeyes. Basically a different number for each updated version.
    Thank you.

That's interesting, because I gathered there were two 'revisions' of the Blob STI. Any idea what was changed between the two?

  7. I hear a lot of chat about this "STI 7", that "STI 8" and even the odd "STI 9"...

Whazzit all mean? How does this numbering scheme relate to Classics, Bugeyes, Blobeyes, Hawkeyes, Hatches and the like?

And what happened to STIs 1-6? Don't seem to hear much about them...

    Yours as ever,

    Confused from Central.

  8. Do you have any issues with marking the paintwork using it?

I thought about a cover (to keep cats' claws off the paintwork) but it was this that put me off - seemingly it's an issue with some of them when the wind blows and the cover moves about, particularly if the car's dirty.

No problems like that with yours Cruz, I take it?

  9. i suggest wearing hawian shirts whenever driving the car,and draping some over it when its parked. this should ruin your street cred enough that they will neither want to nick it or come and gawp like guppies anymore.

i can give you the name of my tailor if you pursue this option

    ;)

And to enhance the effect, try rolling down the windows and playing 'male stripper' over the stereo as loud as possible :icon_salut:

    Now sing with me...

I was a male stripper in a gogo bar, I was a male stripper in a gogo bar...

  10. From what you have said they're probably just cheeky young laddies who have a misguided admiration for your motor. I'd be surprised if they were looking to vandalise or steal it.

As others have said, no harm taking note of their reg just in case :icon_salut:

  11. I reckon as a forum if someone has had a bad experience then members feel they should vent it, so that the issue can be avoided in future.

Absolutely - it's one of the great strengths of a forum like this and of the internet in general. And of course the dealer has an opportunity to tell their side of the story too. It's then left up to the readership to decide what they want to make of it.
