  1. Spotted this from afar the last couple of days. Bright orange, quite loud, looks like a classic (spotting it from the office window!). Seen going up and down Gillespie road, to/from Colinton Village. Anyone on here?
  2. God yes, looking at the contents of my Lowepro Mini Trekker now I think I must be at around the £3k mark, more if you can include the couple of compacts I've got too and the netbook that now lives with the camera. And I'm sure thats a drop in the ocean compared to some.
  3. Dearer than the D60 but I just bought a D90 to replace my old D70 and I'm well pleased with it. The quality continues to stun me every time I use it.
  4. That was shot using a Sigma 105mm Macro. Gives some great results. Well impressed with it.
  5. Not in the same league as 4hero's insect macro's but I was pleased enough for a first proper attempt.
  6. Bought a Nikon D90 today with a few new lens's including a decent macro. Now totally skint. Loving the new camera though, what a difference over the old Nikon D70!
  7. Cheers for the tips. I did try all sorts of different settings. Once the sun came out from behind the cloud it was so bright even at F22 I was still on a fast shutter. Problem here is that for years I photographed nothing but rally cars in forests so this kind of stuff is all a bit new and still in the learning curve!
  8. Followed a few of the tips on here trying the sunset at Blackford Hill tonight. Not great but better than my last attempt! Few more at http://www.flickr.com/photos/grant_r/
  9. Best recently, Fieldrunners, Geodefence and Parking Lot. Just got Leaf Trombone too but cant quite get to grips with it. Flight Control is the b******s though, can't get more than 50 landed!
  10. Had to go for a drive down to Eyemouth today so chucked the camera bag into the boot as there's some pretty spectacular coastline down that way. Sadly, forgot to take the CF card out the PC so was left with the little 16mb one that I found in the bag which gave me a frugal 4 pics to play with. Anyway, got the first decent shot of the car with the new grill attached. and this one with a close up filter attached, nice enough result but really need to get a macro lens asap. With regards to Knockhill or most motorsport, you cant go wrong with a 70-200 f2.8. I bought one for rallying a few years ago and over a few years must have rattled off over 30,000 with it and never needed more. Even on big jumps etc where you really wanted to be out the way a bit. Bought a 2x teleconverter and never used it in motorsport stuff at all.
  11. Used to see something similar to this using older versions of photoshop. We used to have to open a new document in PS and recreate the image again as even saving with another name didn't cure the issue. Since moving onto CS2 or above the issue has never came back. I do agree with IE6 comments, it's lack of being able to display transparency on a PNG is a constant bugbear. IE8 on first look is even worse though! Does some seriously strange stuff.
  12. Cheers, already joined that, just not sure of real names on it!
  13. I'm firmly stuck in the Nikon camp with a few grand already invested. Dont fancy buying the 70-200 f2.8 again! Will have to keep a look out for a decent Nikon macro. Those are some of the best I've seen though. You dont have a flickr page or anything do you?
  14. At £200 for the grill I'd hope no boulders would be bouncing towards it! Give me a shout anytime if you want to get a better look at it. Any excuse to get out and drive it!
  15. Fantastic macro shots! What lens are you using for that? I'm desperate for a decent macro lens just now, just cant get in close enough with the ones I have. I've had smaller cameras that could do macro and I'd love to get shots like those. About as close as I can get! With a Nikon 18-70DX.
  16. I had mine back about 2 months after getting the struts changed as I was still getting noises, that time they changed out the rubber mounts and its all be ok since. Best bet is to ask the guys at Grieves, if they're anything like Nobles they'll be only too glad to help and as you've got the same warranty I have I presume wont be an issue.
  17. Is that yours parked up in the driveway just round the corner from where I saw you then? 55 plate? If so, I'm no more than about a hundred yards round the corner!
  18. Sounds like the same issue I had. Nobles swapped out the front struts for me when I had it. I'd just take it up to Grieves and get them to check it out, Nobles changed mine while I waited on it too.
  19. Spotted around the Shell garage at Stenhouse at about 7.30pm tonight, wave from driver. Think I've seen it parked up locally as well. Anyone on here? I was the blue STi heading towards Gorgie.
  20. Picked up my car from Nobles today with the prodrive grill fitted, most impressed. And yes, I did forget to take of the prodrive decal behind it. Not sure wether to leave it or attempt to remove it now!
  21. Blue STi, full decals and rally style lamp pod on the front, nice an loud. Spotted at around 11am in Slateford Road, Edinburgh near Robestson Avenue and again just past the BP at around 7pm. Didn't get a decent look either time thanks to buses in the road! Anyone on here?
  22. £200+vat for the kit. A F Nobles in Penicuik are supplying and fitting next week when they have the car for some paint work.
  23. Thats the one thanks! I'll be fitting both parts too, really like that.
  24. I've ordered one of these for the STi, but not sure wether to fit the top and bottom grill now, anyone else got them fitted that can post of pic of how they look on the car?
  25. Nobles are top notch. They done that for me as well twice with warranty suspension changes. Wouldn't go anywhere else with the car.
