Made my first visit to Andy F today and I have to say what a great afternoon, first thing that struck me was his supreme knowledge of all the various maps for Imprezas. I had no idea what to expect really at a mapping session, All I know is that Andy made it very easy and all I had to do was sit there and drive with a grin on my face as he made the car go quicker and quicker.
The final result was 344bhp and 335lbs of torque.
Still getting the hang of turning the boost on and off using the rear demister switch I am sure with time I will get the drift, you can certainly feel when it is on boost thats for sure especially in 3rd and 4th gear, the difference is quite considerable.
Needless to say the drive home was fun, I cannot thank Andy enough as the difference to the car is remarkable.
cheers

+1 take away the rear wing and all I can see is a mish mash between some dull american/korean effort. Im sure it looks just dandy from the front and sides!
mish mash is a good description, i am thinking they don't know what to do with this iconic car, it is like a cross between a subaru and an evo, it is still not right but moving in a better direction.

The New York Auto show yesterday saw the wraps going off to four-door sedan version of Subaru WRX STI. This is the first time WRX STI will be available in both, a 5-door hatch and 4-door sedan configuration.
The 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI features a newly designed 18 x 8.5-in. BBS forged aluminum-alloy wheels, high-luster paint and weigh 17.6 lbs which is considerably less then the previous standard wheels. It has Brembo Performance Brake System and both models receive significantly revised suspension tuning.
However, power comes from the same turbocharged/intercooled 4-cylinder Boxer engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, which is capable to deliver 305hp and 290 pound-feet of torque.
If we talk about the design aspect of 2011 Subaru Impreza STI, it will come with a new facade, revised bumper, a lip spoiler, freshly designed front grill, new fog lamps and bumper intake openings. At the same time four door STI will have wider rear fenders.
Well it is starting to look a little better! but will it make it to the UK??????

jesus not this question again lol i am getting one because i am a big wain & love the noise, if you change oil regular then it wont be a big problem so i am lead to believe
Lol note there is no argument about the big wain bit Del !!
Anyway thanks for the input so far folks, let the debate rumble on.

Ok Folks
Wee decision to make, the car 2005 STI ppp goes into Andy F on the 19th April for a remap, after hearing an hks dump valve i thought it sounded great, I know without a remap it causes the engine to run rich however with the remap it may compensate for this, the question is do I add it or forget it, the actual performance comes first.
Gut instinct is to just leave the standard one on but I really would appreciate everyones thoughts.
cheers

Prodrive springs were a big improvement over the standard springs on my car, far less titty bounce on the motorways and when you do push it they give far better grip.
they are softer when going slow and harder when pushing it on
Graeme
"far less titty bounce on the motorways " thats a new one for Scoobypedia absolute quality

got a turbosmart on mine and seems to work fine, not too noisy not too quiet
of course for a hatch you should really cram a donkey in there with its nads connected so that brays every time you change gear
-
havent touched the car since it happened, its never looked sooooo dirty before but the dirt kinda hid the paintwork lol.
Question now is whither to sell or not when i get it back
Noel
Hope it comes back as good as new Noel, hope you hang on to her as everyone knows you in that car.
