aye liking that Neil looks really good and a wee bit different, there was a matt black scooby on the total impreza stand on Sunday, it looked different and I can see why ford and bmw are all going down that road as it does look like a stealth bomber

have used goodyear gsd3's for a while now and cant fault them for wet grip, dry grip and lifespan but then i do drive like miss daisy....
loved toyos on the classic but found them a bit too slidy in the wet on the blobeye, didnt feel like they heated up enough
John every type of yoko's i ve tried have been the same from a509s to prada 2's, dreadful in the wet ,ok in the dry but broke away very suddenly
out of curiosity what tyre pressures are people running on newage 18s?
and hope this means your keeping the wrx Neil
Hi Dave
Running 32 all round at the moment and seems to suit the car, the spec 2s are great to a point and your right you have to back off before they break away on you.
See you at knockhill at the weekend

3rd time lucky, and I'd just like to say a big thanks to Andy Forrest for his patience and great mapping work, and to Dunc at Hypertech for sorting out the few minor issues I had last week .
Managed to get around 336bhp/325ftlb and a very useable amount of power from the TD05 16g and supporting mods, with a little bit more still to come. The only downside of all this is that it took me two and a half hours to get home afterwards, when it only took me 1 hour on the way there .
Lovin the big grin now
P.S. Andy, the restrictor has really smoothed out the boost needle no end, cheers
Nice one Phil glad you are a happy man, great figures and an even better journey home, if Carlsberg did journeys home that was it

dont mean to hijack this thread and hope itt doesnt seem like i am or that im trying to , but while on the subject of tyres, may i ask what and if anyone has any opinion on nitrogen filled tyres instead of normal air filled,
i have a cosco membership card and was at the cosco up at next to ikea in edinburgh ,loanhead area, and in their tyre section they were advertisng filling your tyres with nitrogen instead of air, saying they last longer etc etc , but didnt see a price and never heard of anyone having their tyres filled with it before,
so as i said dont mean to hijack but anyoen had any experience with filling your tyres with the stuff?
Hi Big Felly here is Revolution 24/7 take on it
Research from Uniflate has shown that running on tyres that are underinflated by as little as 4psi can increase fuels bills by 5%. In the UK it is estimated that 19.5 million motorists drive on under-inflated tyres, getting Nitrogen inflatation could give them an annual saving of £62.50 each.
Under inflated tyres also run an increased risk of punctures as well as having a significant effect on your vehicles performance both in handling and daily running costs. Uniflate have produced a stable inflation mixture of 97% Nitrogen (not to be confused with Helium - which is flammable) it has improved pressure retention properties that will ensure tyres remain fully inflated for longer.
No wonder all F-1 Teams have been using Nitrogen inflation from Uniflate for the last 20yrs and its now compulsary in the airline industry too.
The main benefits are;
•Improved Handling
•25% More Tyre Life
•5% Reduction in Fuel Use
•Pressure Retention
•Shorter Stopping Distances
•Safer Driving
Neil I am on Yoko Parada spec 2 tyre great in the dry just dreadful in the rain.
cheers
John

Hi,
Been noticing a sort of metal on metal noise from the front of my scooby when turning right on full lock recently. Only seems to happen at slow speed and I had presumed it was my mudflap as they do drag along the ground after the tein coilovers were fitted. Spent an hour today removing all my mudflaps and the noise is.........still there!
Not sure what it could be as couldn't see anything loose / dangling when I took the wheels off. Just wondering if it could it be brake related, sticking caliper maybe?
Cheers,
Peter
Sometimes these cars suffer from diff lock that causes that noise like a crunching of metal when you turn in hard at slow speed, ask big D in the tech section he knows about these things.
-
totally shocked, that car was incredible, so sorry to hear that dreadful news, glad everyone was ok.
-
Im happy whatever choice, i just love a blast in the car!
