impossible performance in rochester did the decatting for me, i have heard before about getting the light switched off this way, but i was hoping for a more local place than perth, but will get in touch with them and see what advice they can give me. thanks for the advice so far, will let you know what comes of it... rich.... ps, i havent had it mapped yet steve, was thinking of getting it done soon though. i take it that would be a worth while thing to do then???

thanks for the advice, and the offer of assistance, from everyone, but dropped the car off this morning and they are doing it now. its too late too get it out now. the smoking was getting worse, so ive no idea how much longer it would of lasted. but after this expensive outlay, i will from now on be checking on here more often, for your advice and help, to stop myself from making anymore costly errors, such as this... in the future, i will investigate thing further.. thanks for the support guys.....

a big thanks too pele, eureka, martin, and iain for your advice on my smokey car the other day. i took it to a main dealer yesterday, and too your credit pele, you diagnosis was spot on. they told me my turbo was starting to go, and the seels too. so ive opted to have a new one fitted tomorrow. i know i should of asked around on here for advice, and people to help me get it fitted, but due to work constraints and other factors, ive had to do it this way. now im not too sure on how much a new turbo costs, but they quoted me £900 plus fitting, but then they said they would give me a 10% discount, and my sidc dicount on top... hows that sound...

sounds good to me, will have my new turbo fitted by then, could use the trip to run it in a little... will keep checking this thread..

hi folks, thanks for the advice, pele the smoke is white, and appears when the car starts to warm up and idle in traffic or when i leave it running, its not on start up if thats any help. i do have it booked in to cheam subaru on wednesday for a full diagnosis, so will let you know what they say. hope its not too major as its only just had a £1000 service and new parts 6 weeks ago. but if it is thats life, the joys of owning such a good car, i'll say it probably will never cost me as much as my uno turbo did to repair... and hello to lee too, things are not bad thanks, glad to be back at work to earn money to spend on the car... hows you??

hello kent scoobies, ive been away for a few months with a broken knee, but now im on the mend im able to drive my car again. (at last). while i was laid up the car didnt drive anywhere, but was started a few times. now im driving, it seems to smoke on idle after a few miles of pootling around as it warms up, ive noticed it a couple of times now, and im not sure if its because its just been sitting around for a while, or a slightly bigger problem. will get it properly checked out, but thought id kill 2 birds with 1 stone, and say hi and ask for help at the same time.. any advice will be appreciated. rich....

tribeca's, not the best looking car subaru have ever made, seen a few on the roads, but i dont think they are that popular. would much rather stay with my wrx...

they look the nuts ian, really good looking. they dont look cheap. after the dissaster with the wheels i was thinking of refurbing mine and sorting out and painting my calipers. modding seems to have come to a halt on my car.. good to see people are still doing theres, gives me motivation...

thats a great video, saw it about a week ago on youtube, great to watch, brilliant driving. puts my four wheeled drift in the snow the other day to shame... if only all scooby drivers were taught to drive like that... lucky man...

hello everyone, happy new year, sorry not been on for a while.... i have an 03 plated wrx with 215/45/r17 wheels and tyres, and have just sourced a set of nearly new hawkeye sti gold 10 spoke alloys, which in the brochure are said to have 225/45/r17 tryes. i would like to put these size on to the rims, and am just wondering if this will cause any scrubbing and such, or even if there the correct offset for my car... sorry to ask such a simple question, its just im completely inempt with these things, and a main dealer wasnt much help.... thanks in advance for any advice given.... rich..
