If the alternator is working properly then you dont need to turn your lights on to charge the battery up, plus it's just started playing up. Car is booked in for Monday morning now so hope they sort it on warranty, otherwise i'll be £684 + VAT if I have to buy one

I went to start the beast this morning and no pulse was felt, so i called subaru assist who came round to do some tests, He found nothing wrong with the battery but he did say that some Impreza's have to drive along with their side lights on??? he then explained, it's because their battery only gets a charge that way??? and that Impreza's have "intelligent charging" (according to Subaru). My battery was only showing 9.6 volts when engine running, but when I turned my side lights on the meter showed 13. 6 volts. Has anyone heared of this before I may not be at the meet on Friday as I think tha alternator has gone down
