  3. Must have got bargain of the year with these alloys (£275),bought them from a guy on s/net (cheers Barry) and they arrived this afternoon. They're fitted with Toyo Proxes T1r's and i'm really chuffed with how they look on the car. I'm now banned buying anything more for a while by the fiancee ,never mind

  8. Having bought my scooby last november haven't had the time/weather to clean the engine bay,so got the 'gunk' out yesterday and got stuck in.Won't win any shows but looks alot better, gave the altenator and radiator cover panel a paint while i was at it.Big thanks to all the guys who posted advice on my topic of 'cleaning engine' as i've never used 'gunk' before and was unsure what bits to cover when washing down the engine, cheers Before cleaning; After being 'gunked' P.S -still haven't changed the date on my camera!!
  9. Cheers lads, don't think it wil look that good but give it a go!
  10. Ok silly me!!
  11. I'll try the 'gunk' and give it a good rinse off and hopefully it won't stink too much!
  12. Looks good mate, what product did you use.Ithink i'll use teh garden hose to be on the safe sied and apply the degreaser with a brush and some elbow grease.
  13. Cheers Euan ,was going to wrap up the altenator with cling-film -better remember to take it off when i,m finished!!
  14. Bought some 'gunk' degreaser today and have never pressure washed an engine bay before- so i've noticed there are lots of electrical connectors in there,so what is the important ones to cover up and what with? 1 : Altenator 2 ; Alarm 3 ; PIAA foglight control box 4 ? 5 ? Can you advise me on anything else please, cheers.
  15. Hi Euan, Car looking good mate,as for the rubber strips- my UK300 used to have them and i used to remove them regularly to clean the dirt etc off them.I used to refit them and give them a smearing of vasaline -never had any probs.
  16. Hi mate, I've got a boost guage for sale if you want it,make me an offer
  17. Hi mate, I recently fitted one to my classic and thought that the hose on the inlet manifold looked alot bigger than the t-piece,but once you pull it off it isn't. The t-piece i used had 2 tapers on each end ,so i pushed the hoses on as far as i could and they've been fine.Good luck with the fitting.:
  18. Hi mate, I had this problem not so long ago and it's because i used 95ron fuel- this was all i could get during the 'panick buying ' of fuel.Put in a tank full of Super unleaded and the car was running as it should be.
  19. Nice car mate, good luck with the sale.
  20. Hi Euan, Not managed a meet yet, always been offshore.I work Ad-hoc which means i can get a shout at short notice so it's difficult to say if i'll make it or not.
  21. Cheers Euan, don't think it's the brakes or boost hoe,but i've got a spare hose so going to fit it and see if theres any difference- Hows the scoob goin?
  22. Very nice looking car you got mate, and really like those wheels - nice choice.
  23. Whilst on my way to Aberdeen today heard a 'whistling noise ' coming from my car - I've got a 1999 model classic,at first i thought it was someone behind me with squeaky brakes but heard the noise a few times when cars weren't braking. It's not at regular intervals ,just now and then. The only thing i've done recently was fit a boost hose/guage -checked the hose and its fine and it's not my brakes, seems to be around 1800 - 2200 rpm.Has anyone expierienced this or have any clues to what it may be.
  24. Home from offshore less than 1 day and had to get stuck in to fitting my boost and oil temp guages.Quite easy to fit and look pretty good if i do say so myself although had to shuffle the intercooler out the way a bit to access the plug above cyl #3 for the oil temp sender. Just out of curiosity can anyone tell me what boost a 1999 standard scooby should be running, the only performance mod would be the complete stainless exhaust. Will have to get some pics when it's dark.
