About dommar41

  1. The S-GT has a display as well. It does about 25 around town and about 32 on a run, not too bad. I don't drive it very often, though, so when I do I just drive it how I want to. It seems to like Tesco 99. Dom
  2. Ours is a black Lab. We have a boot liner already, definitely a good idea.
  3. That's worth knowing, it eases the pain a bit. My local dealer gives SIDC discount so if all else fails I'll try there. Thanks.
  4. Yes, I thought that. Hopefully one of the aftermarket people will come up with something before the summer hols. I trust you are enjoying your new car? We couldn't run to an STI this time, but the S-GT Sport is PDG!
  5. Yes, I'm sure they're very nice, but indeed! A quarter of that price would be .
  6. I took the company's orange Asbo home one night, I drove it sensibly, and the only person who tried to give me any grief was some bloke in an old silver Scoob with a huge, loud exhaust. He looked old enough to know better but was driving like an a***, presumably thinking his female passenger would be impressed. My wife has been a Scoob driver for five years. I just asked her what sort of drivers give her the most grief, and she said "no one does." After five years in a blue '03 she now drives a Litchfield S-GT Sport and enjoys the fact that people don't know what it is or what it can do. Dom
  7. Does anyone know of any aftermarket suppliers who have developed a dog guard for the '08 Impreza? Thanks, Dom
  8. It was our first time, and it was nice to be made welcome, thanks! It's a good venue, we hadn't been for ages. The food looked good, we will plan to eat next time. It will be even better in the summer when we can wander around the cars all evening in daylight with IPA in hand. Dom
  9. I was working ten yards away from the Prodrive stand for all four days and never saw anything more interesting than the cars. I must need new glasses....
  10. I wasn't impressed with the blue STI on the Prodrive stand. I think they missed a trick - they should have added every bell and whistle, but it looks like they despecced it in order to be able to say how low the price is. I'm not sure that blue suits the new shape so well, either (and we are believers, having owned a blue 03 WRX for the last five years). In contrast, I was really taken with Litchfield's STI which is on the SFS (I think it was) stand in Hall 10. I have always liked Evos but I'm not so keen on the X having seen it. Dom
  11. Not mad keen on the Evo X in the flesh. although the spec looks good. Also underwhelmed by the blue STI on the Prodrive stand, they seemed to have despecced it in order to be able to say how cheap it is, I thought they should have added every bell and whistle they could find. See Litchfield's STI on the SFS (I think it was) stand in hall 10, WOW!
  12. Haven't been there for ages! We will be there, babysitter permitting.... Dom and Louise
  13. Thank you very much. Don't suppose I'll see much of the new car, though :-(
  14. Well, to cut another very long story short, I bought it. Actually it's my wife's car, to replace a blue '03 WRX. It was delivered on Saturday. We were hoping to get it in mid-December but the type approval took a bit longer than planned and then it was the hols. Like a lot of people, we didn't like the pictures of the MY08 car when we saw them and we were going to move away from Subaru, but we think the mesh grille and the 18" Type RA wheels really transform the look. We haven't driven it much yet, but first impressions are very favourable. It's a hoot to drive, and it feels a lot more modern and grown up than the '03. And the doors and boot close with a clunk rather than a clang. We like the fact that at first glance it's really anonymous, although my wife fears that whereas in the blue one she used to be let out of every side road by every lad in a Saxo, etc., now she will have to fight her way out like people in ordinary cars! Anyway, my priority now is to get the old car sold - can't afford to keep both, unfortunately. We are in Cambridgeshire, so if you see us, give us a wave! Cheers, Dom
