  1. Yes, those are great mats! Go for if you have a Classic Scoob! Does anyone know where I might be able to get similar prodrive mats for my bugeye? Cheers, Nick.
  2. Hi Cal, The bug questions are: 1. What did taking it to the awesome stage 4 cost ya!? 2. What did the insurance man say? Cheers, Nick.
  3. Good going Dean, my personal best was 145 on a full tank when I first bought the car... ... ahh the smell of burning scaletrix. My car is a standard WRX so perhaps our lower BHP requires that bit extra
  4. Thanks for everyone's suggestions - I am seriously considering a ecu remap to start rather than PPP and what's more power engineering listed by T5NYW is very close to where I live - interesting stuff.
  5. Hi Nick and Tony, Thanks for your replies. My WRX Impreza was bought used from Subaru and has 6 months left on the warranty, so for me the warranty situation is not a big issue. I am going to call my insurance people and ask them what affect the PPP mod will have. A worrying start is that I could not find WRX Impreza with PPP as an option on their web site when trying to make a sample quote (However STI PPP was there). I am a mod newbie, can you or anyone else suggest any alternatives to PPP that might be more cost effective for me to consider? Cheers, Nick.
  6. Hi, I am considering paying the whooping £1,600 to get PPP put on my 2002 WRX Bug Eye. I would really appreciate it if people could answer some of my questions: 1. Am I likely to get insurance problems (I am using Privilege at the moment)? 2. A full tank in my standard WRX takes me about 230 miles, what can I expect with PPP. 3. Does the car have to run on Shell Optimax or similar? 4. Are there any alternatives to PPP that might be better in terms of BHP per £? Cheers, Nick.
  7. Hi, It all depends on how much no claims you have. I just got insurance for my 2002 WRX Bugeye, but I do have 6 years no claims. I tried confused.com and got quotes for £640+ Then I called Privilege who are not on confused and got quote £600 with protect no claims. I called Keith Michaels and they could not even come close and told me to go with Privilege. Hope this helps in some way. Nick.
  8. Hi, So I am about to take the plunge... gonna buy one So off to look at some second hand bugeyes, so what do I need to look out for and or avoid! Cheers, Nick.
  9. Hi, Newbie Question here! Is it possible to get the Prodrive kit retro fitted to one's WRX wagon? If so does that make your car a WRX PPP for insurance purposes or is it now a modified WRX in their twisted minds? Cheers, Nick
  10. Thanks to everyone for all their responses! You've been most helpful - I have a lot to consider but far less to put me off! Nick
  11. Hi, I have been thinking of getting a WRX Impreza for a while now and would like some advice. I apologise for the long list of questions, but here goes 1. I need to do some long distance driving for work, but not too much, are WRX Imprezas or STIs quite reliable? 2. What petrol consumption do they get around town and what do they do on the motorway? 3. I am 31 with full no claims, roughly what can I expect to pay on insurance on a WRX or WRX STI? 4. Do people constantly try to race you? 5. Where do you recommend I look to get a low mileage WRX or WRX STI? 6. Are there any major difference between the bug eye model and the current WRX (not the one just coming out of course? For some reason I love the older bug eyes. 7. Is servicing really every 6 months and what should I expect to pay? Cheers, Nick
