About finalzero

  1. I just went with KM again, spoke to Gary's colleague Fraser who dealt with my insurance last time and got a reduction, not loads but end of the day I couldn't get a better quote anywhere else.
  2. Jack the car up and get under the gearbox, you should find the plug there (download a copy of the Subaru workshop manual, shows it on there).
  3. Try Keith Michaels but tbh I have not had a good response from them. Have been with them for the past year so got my no claims discount and at 32 years old I expected some discount. But I ended up getting quoted virtually the same figure at £1k fully comp so maybe time to shop around a bit - I can't help but wonder in the current climate insurance companies are starting to put their prices to cover costs?
  4. I am back and so is my RA, almost sold it but I lost the bottle at the last minute and decided to keep it Going to start getting the much needed work done on the car start of January so hopefully see you folks at a meet in MK
  5. wtf?! That makes me feel sick, one thing I have been worrying about is some jealous ****er doing this to my motor but to see it done like this, gutted for you mate. Any ideas who did this?
  6. I drive a 2000 reg STi Type RA Lightweight model (no electrics, aircon etc). Virtually standard bar a full decat Blitz Nur Spec R exhaust, panel filter, HKS SSQV dump-valve and uprated spark plugs. On V-Power it's pushing out over 300 bhp however it's actually quite tame around town, just a bit mental when you let the car come to life. It's a completely different animal to the newage STi I had (05 PPP) and I prefer it. Feels lighter, more responsive, more aggressive when being pushed hard and always brings a smile to my face (also being a leary Cashmire Yellow colour helps). I have not had any issues to date, changed the front brakes to a set of Subaru 4 Pots with DS2500 pads and Black Diamond grooved + vented discs which have improved braking considerably. Changed the oil and that's about it, car has done about 30k miles now so will be going in for a major service but I doubt it will be costly. Depends on what you want out of it, personally I like my car's with a factory and spec as close to what they are meant to be (not that I won't be upgrading the power in the future). Any scooby you get I recommend you get the handling and braking sorted out first. Once the car is setup right then you can look at the power as you will have a chassis that can actually handle it.
  7. Hi, Thought I'd share a site I co-found with some of my friends. It's an IT related site aimed as place where you can get answers on any IT related subject. I did the entire site design from scratch and I am pretty pleased with results  So get registering and start spamming the forum! http://www.lessthandot.com Cheers, Fz
  8. Well what a damn nice day everyone in MK! I don't care if summer is not here because today felt like summer! Got the car hand washed in the morning as I was too lazy to do the dirty work. Drove the car around to then add more dirt on it, got it home and started my marathon two bucket, 2x wash involving washing the car with the 2 bucket method, drying it off, then washing it all over again using mag's shampoo wash thingy. Dried off the motor and then used autoglym resin polish, mag's easy (because I am cheap) wax, autoglym sealant and then gave the car a quick light polish with the buffing machine. Sun shining, car looking as yellow as it can, I got in and had a nice cruise to the petrol station (my god the prices :s), a quick trip to mothercare to buy some baby bits (no 3 on the way) and then cruised back and you know what I love about driving a Cashmere Yellow STi RA? The car always brings a smile to peoples faces, apart from grumpy evo owners everyone smiled at my car today which in turn made me feel like a smug git. Also spotted a fair few soobies today, Blue WRX I think, Silver classic in Westcroft McD's and a wagon classic passing me as I entered Wolverton. Right now that I have posted this it will snow tomorrow so better clean the car one last time!
  9. In any particular place or all across MK? Well I well and truely labelled myself then, I was going it a bit turbo nutter large today, had the car cleaned/waxed and was driving back home, got a bit carried away on an overtaking move and forgot to lift off the accelerator pedal after noticing a bike was chasing me at said speed to overtake.. does the "sticky-foot" problem happen to others? Well on a serious note I will not be driving the scooby if the above is the case, at least until the campaign is over, had enough problems with police using me to up their stats.
  10. Hmm I need to get down to Ace Cafe one day lol - one of my Skyline owning mates (S2 GTT) has asked I tag along with them next time so should be good fun... one STi RA in a pack of Skylines... haha
  11. Great car mate, make sure you set it up right and use it for what it was made for
  12. Haha, I'll let folks know if the Blitz is up for sale, right now chatting to a local exhaust fabricator about getting a silencer made up to fit the blitz system so with a bung it would be ultra quiet but without still managable
  13. Hmm yep, didn't think of that, need to find some in/around Milton Keynes/bucks area.
