  1. The rally car is back on the road, just been to TEG with it and as usual it cost me an arm and a leg to get it back ship shape, but its now pushing it's way up to 300bhp and in fine working order. Entered The Christmans Stages at Croft for the old shakedown on December 29th, see what happens from there, maybe do a few others as the year goes by. Got the Jim Clark planned - but no others at the moment. So are you gonna tell me how you recognise the place that the car is then - or is it total guess work on my behalf who you are???
  2. Of course they stand out compared to ordinary cars. All I was saying was that I don`t like white wheels, you ask for opinions and I gave you mine. This is only my personal opinion so please don`t take offence as its your car and your money to do what you want with. Dont worry fella I was only joking, I did indeed put the question out to see what people thought. I am glad to report that although there are a few gold lovers - white seems to be the popular choice. The wheels will need to come off soon anyway as they are running with intermeddiate tarmac tyres and with the weather the way it is just now I might end up with the baby through a hedge!!!
  3. I know a few of you guys have went for the white wheels so don`t take this the wrong way. I personally don`t get this 'white wheel' fad, to me it looks cheap and just stands out far too much and I can`t get the idea of Dulux Emulsion out my head! Now bronze on the other hand looks very nice. The whole point with all due respect of owning an impreza is to stand out - or have I just missed the whole point over the last 10 years or so???
  4. Cracking tribute to a man who showed the world of motorsport how by never giving up you can achive greatness. The man was and always will be a Superb Subaru Scottish Legend.
  5. Whats your thoughts lads and ladettes???
  6. Hi Guys, I have a 2004 STI thats been mapped to 340bhp by Andy F, it has been servced every 10k and when I don't hammer the backside of it I can get between 250-280 miles per tank, when it does get a wee bit heat that can be as low as 100, but as previously stated by many - you don't buy and STI, get it mapped to 340bhp if your gonna be worried about how many MPG's you get. If you do worry about such trivial things sell the car and buy a diesel - let someone else enjoy how an Impreza is meant to be driven. PS, The white 18"s are going on the car this weekend and the pics will be on the forum on Sunday/Monday cannae wait!!!! What a bloody kid I am.
  7. Hi Gus, Stiil cannae get the pics straight onto the screen, (boo hoo) I know I may be being thick but can you lay out a numpties guide to doing it as you clearly are the top man for this type of job. Gary
  8. To be honest - not so sure fella!!! PS how do I get the pics on the forum like you guys did???
  9. Hi Gus, Good to see an example and it really does look tidy with them on, I think it may be a trial at the weekend and see what happens from there.
  10. Hi Guys, Just got 6 new gleaming white Speedline Corse 18x8 wheels for the rally car and have just had the black stuff put on them, the only problem I now have is that I am kinda thinking for putting them onto the Blue STI - whats your thoughts guys??? I have seen a few guys putting white 18's on cars where you wouldnt think it would suit - but look brilliant!!! If you chaps could give me your thoughts it would be much appreciated. I will put them on and take some pics and post them here at the weekend for your expert opinions. I have added oobsters car below as an example to help. Gary (Rallyfever)
  11. Think I will give up the investment lark and take up selling dodgy shellsuits to ned's in the weege!!!
  12. Hi Martin, I kinda knew as you were putting the splitter back on that the last thing that you wanted to do was sell "The Bandit", but alas as you say the big bad mortgage that comes to us all has to take priority now and again - unfortunately!!!! You final request was for me to look after your baby - and as a Subaru ovner for around 7 years I am sure to do that for you mate - it certanily is my 2nd baby, or maybe 3rd after the rally car. (it's an STI too as you know so very difficult to choose between them) Anyway I hope your comment of it being your last Scooby was a joke, once that burble gets in your ears mate - it never leaves!!! Happy house hunting bud, work hard and get another Scooby as soon as you can. Keep in touch and hopefully I will see you around. Gary (Rallyfever)
