  1. Hi All, Just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, 2008 has been a mixed year with some fine fettling of Impreza's going on everywhere, it was the year of The McRae Gathering, The McRae Stages - where no less than 6 former World Champions graced our forests, The dawn of the New Impreza to the World Rally Championship - and the demise of the team in December. (Sure they will come back stronger) What will 09 bring??? Who knows, but all I know is there will be some great lifetime friendships started in the year just as they have done in the past. Jen and I hope to meet as many of you as possible in the year - come down to the Borders where it is said by some - there is the best driving roads in the country!!! PS, Watch out for The Jim Clark this year - it's gonna be special!!!!! Millenium Stadium on Wales Rally GB, Douglas on the Isle of Man - you aint seen nothing yet!!! If you wanna see some real close up action come down to Duns on the weekend of the 22nd - 24th May. Cheers Gary & Jen

  3. Hi Fella, If you have not posted 50 times on the forum it usually does not let you, maybe a wee e-mail to the SIDC team will confirm this - or maybe you are just a tad quick and it will show up soon. It usually goes on straight away mind you!!! Cheers Gary

  7. Hi All, Just found this on the press pages on google. Suzuki quit WRC 10 hours ago Suzuki have announced they are pulling out of the World Rally Championship due to the worldwide economic crisis. The Japanese company, who only joined the championship in 2008 after several successful seasons in the junior category, have decided to maximise funds for "core business functions". A statement from Suzuki read: "In responding to the contraction of the automotive sales caused by recent global economic turmoil, Suzuki has been promptly taking possible countermeasures including the reassessment of its global production output." The statement continued: "The company, however, foresees the shrinking trend in longer periods of time rather than a short-term phenomenon. "To secure its own business environment for tomorrow, the organisation reviews every aspect of the operation and decided to focus on the core business functions such as the manufacturing system, environment technologies and development of new-generation powertrains. "As a result, Suzuki concluded to suspend WRC activities from 2009." Rival Japanese manufacturer Honda announced earlier this month that they were pulling out of Formula One for financial reasons.
  8. Hi Paul, Looking at the pic again I see what your saying, weird these modern camera's - play havoc with old peepers!!!!! Cheers Gary
  9. The Wide Boy look would be almost everybody's look in an ideal world............ask him how much that look cost and you will then realise why I went for the "BUDGET" option!!! Cheers Gary
  10. If God wanted us all to be the same he/she (got to be PC these days) would have given us all 1 type of car and a set of rules, the first one would say "Thowt shall not tinker with thine motor car and keep it as the blessed maker meant it to be", the 2nd would be "You shall be stuck down with the Diesel stick should you have any trouser shiftage upon the very thought of a Top Gear episode" Us Scoody worshipers were put on this twisty tarmac (Invented in Scotland) laden World of ours to do one thing - have the biggest smile on our faces whilst driving!!! Be it fast or slow, you can always tell when you see a Scooby flat 4 driver - they are the ones with the biggest grin on their faces the World has ever seen!!!! When other drivers and people on the street see the work we have put into our beloved steeds......there is always a smile back. Maybe a shake of the head sometimes with that smile, but what that combo tell's you as the Scooby driver is that they are thinking - I wish I had the balls to be as different and happy as that!!!! Happy Scooby Driving One and All Scooby Driver - Born To Be Different
  11. It did indeed just replace the origional STi spoiler - fitted well and I must admit it does look even better in the flesh
  12. Working on the wife for some kind of graphics kit, not sure what one I would go for - probably not the WRC dayglo yellow, had it on the rally car and it faded badly in the sun. If anyone has any ideas or example pics of what I should do post it here. Mind you I like it as it is and may leave it as it is!!! Cheers Gary
  13. Hi Neil, As I said earlier, some would like and some would hate. I totally respect everyones views, most Impreza's have been changed to suit their owners own taste - this is just mine and I love it. Cheers Gary
  14. Been toying with the idea for ages and finally bit the bullet and purchesed the WRC spoiler - and love it!!! Some love it and some hate it, it's my car and it looks the dogs nads!!!
  15. Hi John, If you could ask him fella it would be much appreciated, would kinda like it done sooner rather than later. Cheers bud Gary
  16. Hi All, Anyone know a good bodywork shop that could fix the scrapes on my WRC spoiler, the guy from Halfords who does that sort of thing says he doesn't do bonnets, roofs or boots - doesn't leave much of the car he does do!!! I live jsut outside Lauder on the Edinburgh side so the Borders of Edinburgh would be fine. Cheers Gary
  17. Hi John, It's fitted fella, just got a couple of scrapes on it which will be getting fettled soon. Cheers Gary
  18. All deserve an award - but The Gathering Team it has to be!!! Gary

  20. Hi Gordon, What ones you thinking of going for, the new WRC - or traditional bright yellow? Always had a hankering for getting it done myself - just got the full WRC spoiler on the blobeye and it looks the mutts nuts. Maybe watch your thred and see what everyone thinks. Cheers Gary
  21. Hi John, Cracking photo's fella, some good ones of my pride and joy too - the wife obviously!!!! Got the WRC spoiler on now, tried to do it on my own and dropped the bloody thing, chipped the spoiler and smashed the bach screen Got the screen fixed this morning and now looking for somewhere to get the spoiler back to it's shining glory - what a muppet I am!!! It does look the monkeys nuts though - even if I have to say so myself. Hope things are well with your guys and cannae wait for the next run, as I said earlier if you ned a hand just get in touch. Cheers Gary
  22. Mind you if it is a wee tad wet it may make for some interesting driving - wow where did that back end come from!!!!
  23. Now there is some sound advice - gonna put the order in just now and get them on the baby for the next dry weekend day
  24. What do I do chappies???? - need tyres soon and although I am agreeing with the comments on the slightly slippy rubber - I have fully blown slicks on it just now and the rallying has taught me how to handle this - just don't go daft in other words in the wet on ice!!! I only use the car at the weekend and don't really know the last time it was out when it was icy or really wet. Cheers Gary
  25. Hi Paul, It was them I got the price of fella - and I agree that they look hard to beat. £138 including VAT and delivery per tyre is a steal in my book. I was quoted over £180 each around 6 months ago for these babies!!! Cheers Gary
