The car does not have any diff controls and according to the Vin plate codes it is a WRX Type RA LTD edition. The car has the Ej20 egine 276BHP engine in there. Engine code is EJ207DW1KE.

Hi guys just come off the phone to API they seem really good, the price they gave me for a standard build, built from my original engine, recovery charge of £120, and VAT the total sum was £3666 Ouch. That is a lot of money.

Thanks guys you have been really supportive and I really do appreciate all of your help. My other option was to sell the car to a big garage and trade it in for a 1.5 sport yaris which is also a nice car, but then I thought......... It's not a Scooby LOL

If i decided to get the engine rebuilt, how would i transport the car 130 miles to API garage? Would the car be safe to drive? Or would it be totally dangerous and stupid? If i did drive the car 130 miles and took it easy not going into the turbo and sticking to 50mph all the way, would this do more damage, or would be just alright? Cheers guys

I herd that a rebuild should be about £2500 is this right? Also if i had the engine rebuilt, would it happen again straight afterwards? Has anyone on here had there engines rebuilt? Really would want your advice and input please. I feel gutted. When someone tells you that your pride and joy is knackered, made me fill physically sick.

Hi guys, I have just had the worst day of my life. I have a WRX Type RA in blue, just had a full service, four brand new tyres, and a new version 6 rear wing sprayed and fitted. I went down to power engineering today to get a tune up, power test, and to get the car de-limited. Power engineering put my car on the dyno and popped the bonnet. They told me that the bottom end had gone because of the knocking sound it was making. It must have just happened, because it was alright on the way down there, and I live 80 miles away from power engineering. I need some help and advice guys please, because the rebuild will cost minimum £2500, but at the moment the car is pretty much worthless. The car is absolutely immaculate, and now looks stunning. What shall I do? Keep the car and get a rebuild? If so where to go? Or on the other hand sell the car on for about £2000 if I am lucky? Can I have some help please? Thanks
