Gauging Interest - Scooby For Sale
scoobytypera replied to scoobytypera's topic in South East England
Car goes on sale this weekend £4750, after a full valet and some new pictures. -
It pains me to say this but, just gauging interest on my car, which might be up for sale shortly due to buying my first house. This is a reluctant sale and I am in no rush to sell this car. I know how good it is and how well maintained it is. Anything which needed doing has been done. I truly love this car and have had almost 3 years of enjoyment; car covers around 3000 miles a year. * JDM Limited edition (28/1000) Subaru Impreza WRC Version 5 Type RA * 71,540 miles, MOT 7 months, TAX 9 months * HPI Clear * Imported from Japan March 2003 * RA upgrade including lightweight glass and Aluminium body panels (Inc Bonnet) * New Version 6 rear Spoiler * Quick steering rack * Group N Close ratio 5 speed gearbox * ABS (Optional Extra) * LTD edition Blue Alacantara buckets seats * Prodrive Boot mat * HKS dump value (Quiet) * De-cat down Pipe * HKS Silent Power exhaust System * Climate Control * Air conditioning (Optional Extra) * JDM option Electronic folding wing mirrors * Full crystal headlights * Upgraded Blue/Ice White Headlight bulbs * Clear Sidelights & Indicators * Genuine STI Mud Flaps * 16" Lightweight Genuine Subaru gold alloys + Toyo Proxes T1-Rs * Cobra CAT 1 alarm & immobiliser + Certificate * Remote Central locking * Momo steering wheel * Power steering * Alpine Sound System * Factory Tinted rear windows * Cheap tax (12 months £190) The car has the original Japanese manual & Service Book with Japanese service history. I have a folder full of services & receipt’s etc… Even have the original sale receipt from SVA imports. Engine Spec * Version 9 STI crank (stronger) * Pneumatic valves * Roger Clark modified oil pump * Timing Belt * Auxiliary Belt * Cambelt change (65K) * Genuine Subaru oil filter * 5L Silkolene Pro S 10W 50 oil change (Every 6 months) * NGK Spark Plugs * STI panel air filter * Fuel filter * 1x Bottle NF Octane booster * Silkolene Silktran Syn 5 75w90 (67K) * Maintenance free Battery Recent new parts completed by Larkin’s Automotive (SIDC Subaru forum known mechanic): * Rear discs & pads * Genuine Subaru Fuel pump (Completed by Subaru main dealer) * Genuine Subaru steering rack rod ends * Genuine Subaru Rear Diff seals * Rear Diff oil change I have kept every receipt in its folder, and have the receipt for the work above completed. The car being just over 11 years old it does have the usual small stone chips on the bonnet etc… and there are two scratches on the rear quarter, so have priced the car accordingly to sell.

Many thanks for all your help, i have checked the wiring and it looks as if one of the cables is a bit chewed. Can someone point me in the right direction for a new Speed converter/De-limiter? Many thanks
-
Yeah if you can please, that would be a great help. Many thanks. paul.thompson@medway.gov.uk

Thats correct my car is My98 (Sept 98 - August 99) It does have the original KMPH dial face with the K blanked out. I will have a look at the wiring. It might just be a loose connection? I will have a look. Failing that i will but a new de-limiter/speed coverter and get that fitted.

Larkins Automotive Services (dean) Many Thanks
scoobytypera replied to scoobytypera's topic in South East England
Many thanks, yeah its lovely to drive. I really do love this car. -
The dials go up to 160MPH, When i have my Sat Nav installed the speed is about 8 or 9 mph out.

Hi guys, I have owned me Subaru for a few years now and am very happy with it. The car has been converted to MPH, but the car still seems to be limited to the standard 112MPH. I have taken my car to performance engineering and they said I already have a delimiter and converter in place. Has anyone got any ideas why the car is still limited? Is the converter/delimiter faulty? Any help will be much appreciated. Many thanks

Subaru Impreza Wrx Type Ra Wrc 555 Ltd Edition 28/1000
scoobytypera replied to scoobytypera's topic in South East England
LOL that was me issue. I have been doing some research and in this good condition i am going to start at £7200, as this is a very rare car. Will get some really good shots of the car and put it in the for sale section. -
Hi guys need some help, i'm afraid i am going to be selling my subaru below. But not sure on the price can anyone help? See details below: Subaru Impreza WRX Type RA WRC 555 LTD edition 28/1000 Approx 300BHP Approx 0-60mph 4.3seconds Year 1998 Version 5 80K miles MOT 11 months Tax 12 Months PAS (power steering) ABS AC/climate control (air-con) Cobra RCL (remote central locking) EW (electric windows) Cobra CAT 1 alarm & Immobiliser Factory tinted rear windows Toyo Proxes T1R all round 5 months old HKS dump valve Full HKS silent power exhaust Group N short ratio gear box Aluminium bonnet Aluminium boot Light weight body panels The car was imported from Japan in March 2003. I bought this car in 2007; I have owed the car for 1 year now and absolutely love the car. I am a member of www.sidc.co.uk , and www.type-ra.co.uk owners clubs and always keep my cars in tip top condition. I spent almost 7 months trying to find a good example like this one, and I do not want to part with it really. My reason for the sale is that I am looking for a house, sooner than I thought due to the drop in house prices. Interior The interior is in extremely good condition, with the LTD edition blue bucket seats. Only 1000 of these cars ever made, this one is number 28. The cabin is a pleasant place to be and there is no wear and tear on the seats, floor, console etc… The standard Momo steering wheel and Momo gear knob and gaiter are slightly worn due to the age of the vehicle, but nothing bad. Alpine CD player, with top spec type r speakers in the door and type s speakers in the rear. The rest of the interior is in excellent condition. There is a brand new space saver in the boot with the original Subaru bag, tools and jack. Exterior The body work is great, with only the usual minor stone chips, which is to be expected with a car of its age. There are two scratches in the rear left quartile, which was done by accident by BGV engineering, when fitting the new oil pump. Quoted £100 to fix the scratch. The four original alloys are slightly kerbed by previous owners, but are nothing major. I recently had the rear spoiler replaced with the Version 6 spoiler which was fitted professionally. Engine The second month of owning this car the oil pump failed. This ment that the bottom end was rebuilt with stronger parts see below for replacement parts: Version 9 STI crank (stronger) Pneumatic valves Roger Clark oil pump (modified to allow more oil into the engine than before, stopping from it failing again.) Timing Belt Auxiliary Belt Cambelt This little lot cost me £2500, but I knew that with these parts this would not happen again if well maintained. The engine oil has been replaced every 3500 miles, using Silkolene Pro S 10W 50 fully synthetic. And when I bought it I spent about £400 giving it a complete service. STI air filter, Subaru fuel filter, NGK Iridium spark plugs, Subaru coolant, Subaru oil filter, oil change, new battery (maintenance free), gear box oil change and brake fluid change (DOT 4). The car has always been run on shell V-power with 1/6 of the NF octane booster with every tank. All receipts to prove this.

Replacing Auxiliary Belt On My Subaru?
scoobytypera replied to scoobytypera's topic in South East England
Where are you situated? and would you want any money? -
Yesterday I was driving home, and I noticed the steering acting strange and feeling notchy. When I got home I parked up and noticed a slipping sound, when turning the steering wheel on full lock. I checked the belt and noticed that the belt had split in half and is only running on half the belt. I have ordered a new one but not to sure how to fit it. This belt drives the power steering and alternator. Can anyone help please?
