  1. I officially hate the snow. Stuck offshore due to the stupid stuff not sure if im going to make it home for crimbo :gay::D:wub:

is the airport in aberdeen shut,??? i am dude away the 30th but there was a crew change due today with bristows

  2. i have had dealings with nationwide in larbert before and there price is astronomically higher than most places for repairs and to be honest the work they did was not great.

if i were you i would push to get the car written off as anything on the engine has gone slightly wrong and it had been driven, not worth the risk dude. i would say you could get it reparied for half if not less that they have quoted as they are shocking.(less if you can source the panels damaged from somewhere other than the main dealer) as i know that larbert deal with S&S subaru in ayr for there subaru parts as one of my mates had some stuff done there via there insurance and was back several times getting things re-done.

i would get the money from the insurance then buy your impreza back from them and repair it yourself. and you will be up a couple of grand and have the car you already have,

it will be worth less when you come to sell it as will be on a VCAR worth bearing in mind if the worth of car/price insurance company want/ repairs/ then resale make it worth while.

hope you get it all sorted out dude

  3. although there are variations throughout the garages the main reason petrol is so high os because of the economy, it is an easy stealth tax. most folk know nothing of the price os oil or the dollor exchange rate etc. so just put it down to that. petrol will go up 2.5-3 pence on january 1st as vat goes back to 17.5%.

the goverment are using the extra billions from taxing fuel to pay for there F*^k ups and the banks failure of common sense, lets give shed loads of money to people with no money, then ask them to pay it back Eh? clueless,

prepare to pay alot more for fuel in the future as they will alos use the excuse that it is helping to pay for green wind turbines and tree hugging hippys to play in the snow.

as most folk with common sense know global warming is a con something for the world to worry about after the cold war. all the shocking figures are cooked to make it look bad,( they say 1998 was the warmest year on record (it was actually 1934)) and the ice age 10000 years ago happend because china was building a powerstation a week.............a load of rubbish. china emits more CO2 in a day that we do in a year, so why bother.

came of the point but rant over!!!

  4. does the car not use more fuel as the air that is getting dumped has been measured by the maf and ecu fuels for this amount of air. so if dumping air will run a bit richer?not that i am fuel watcher

i am interested in this topic myself but think i am going to get a HKS SSQV for my wr1 as i have heard they are the best one?

  5. we managed to get into the restricted service area so got right up to the cars, even offered us a burger as they thought we were part of a team.

showed the hidden side to rallying ............dark, bloody wet, underneath a muddy car still dripping changing out parts. but still smiling.....ace.

i flashed a rake of scoobs that were going about...i was in the wr1

  6. have you considered a wr1, they are the quickest uk impreza. also as they are 320bhp standard the prodrive pack is not counted as a modification so sometimes can be a bit cheaper to insure. with 11k top you might just be able to get one although prices are a bit stronger for them compared to a 04 sti.

0-60 in 4.2 sec and they are not limited (altought the top speed is claimed at 155) not true :-)

  7. one of the guys at my work did it a few years ago went to trade his celica gt for a 5 series bmw. he told the salesman what the car was he gave them a price and he instantly twigged what had happened but said nothing. (priced a gt4) did the deal... then he came offshore and his wife went up to pick up the car and they would not give it to her unless she paid 2500 quid more. she called the rig, a quick call to there solicitor. solicitor made call to dealer, dealer called his wife asking what time is best to have the car delivered.......nice one. he went back in to that dealer to change his 5 series about 18 months later and spoke to the salesman that did the deal and he had a poster on the wall of his office. I HATE CELICAS. surprisingly he was not offered that good a deal so went somewhere else to get his next car. class!!

  8. you will need to get the offshore survival and a medical. i think the cost for both is around the 800 quid mark.

things will pick up next spring.

drilling side is the easier one to get into compared to production.

A vendor company is a good way to get a bit of experience and get foot into the door the disadvantage to them is that you might have periods while you are not working.

It is a bad time but positions do come available and sometimes companies dont want people with experience as then they can train you the way they want you to work.

  9. the longer you keep an impreza the cheaper the insurance should get.

i am 27 with 6 points in the last 4 years and a claim (on another car) with a wr1 i am only 650 (with protected no claims). (it cost me 900 when i was 25 with 6 points, no claims)

i have had the wr1 2 years and before i had group 17 insurance ep3 ctr and a leon cupra 225.

    it will get better. :D
