About jho!

  1. Hi I wouldn't bother with a induction kit they can cause more trouble than thier worth. I had PPP on mine when I bought it, but changed to an afterburner vortex and straight through center pipe. It had a better sound (more burble) and louder but not stupid. I leave home at 5.30 in the morning and never had any complaints. Also just the back box and keeping the original center pipe will keep the noise down.
  2. If you search on scobynet there was alot said about this a couple of years ago. I believe some had some sort of harmonic damper fitted, as the noise is caused by slight vibration and at a certain frequency it would be heard as a hum. I am not aware of anyone ever having a failure of the rear diff that is linked to the hum. So yeh it's just a characteristic. As I said I found a loud exhaust cured it, well I could no longer hear it! jho!
  3. Sorry, the hum would only happen at 63mph. jho!
  4. Hi I had a 'harmonic hum' from the rear differential on my 54 plate (2004) WRX. Appartently it was a known condition that affected some but not all WRX's around that year. I know some people took thier cars to the dealers to be fixed but the noise would allways return. It caused no ill effects so I never bothered to have it fixed. I found an afterburner exhaust sloved the hum jho!
  5. I was unforntunate enough to work for a peugeot dealer once selling thier high quaility motorcars. I have to say the 206 GTI 180 was probally one of the most dull unispiring cars I have ever driven. Very crashy poorly made and not very fast. With the worst gearbox you will ever find this side of a City Rover (now that made Morris Marina gearboxes feal sporty). However I did have a corsa with a universal backbox blowme away at the lights tonight
  6. Now thats what i'm looking for!!! Do they have a website ? Thanks JHO!
  7. Hi I'm looking to get a new exhaust for my 2008 STI to release the scooby burble. At the moment I like the afterburner twin tailpipe from scoobyworld. I had an afterburner on my blob eye and was very happy. Has any one had this fitted? and is the sound like the afterburner vortex? Cheers JHO! PS great day at rally day, wife now tells me Iv'e got to sort out the noise so job done taking her
  8. I say how talented I think he is and he goes and makes a schoolboy error, at lest he took out the right car
  9. As im sat with a beer watching the start of the Canidian grand prix I started thinking just how good could Hamilton become. I have no doubt he is the best driver currently in F1 and after seeing his race in F2 in Turkey when he span on and then went from last to finish second I think he could become not only the best british F1 driver ever but maybe he best ever!! What do you guys think? jho!
  10. Hi I picked up my 2008 sti 2 weeks ago, and it's amazing I cannot recomend them enough. I opted to keep the 17 wheels but I do plan to change 18's as they do look a bit small, as for handling I think it will make a slight difference. Did not go for the sat nav but the stereo is light years ahead of my 54 plate wrx, I'd personly save the money and get a tom tom. On to discount, I used to be a car salesman up to 2 years ago so have good experience of this. The dealer will probally tell you they can't discount, but if you show you will buy the car at the right price a deal can be had. But don't expect a big discount as they only have there dealer margin to work with and have been given very small alications of sti's for this year. The dealer I bought mine from has a allication of 11 and I bought the 9th. The deal I got was 25995 for the car but they gave me 9500 for my 2004 54 plate wrx ppp 4 door which is a grand over book. So I was happy. ( this was before the recent price rise). Just go for it you will not be disapointed and remember blue is the fastest colour
