  1. sounds roughly ok then... thanks for all yr comments..and from now on..99 ron only! thanks guys.

I've got a 1994 import, which before i blew the engine could get rid of a tank of fuel in less than 100 miles, but it had a jap chip in it. With rebuilt engine getting 200 miles. My engine blew even running it on the good stuff, get someone to check it hasn't got an extra chip in the ECU as your experience sounds very similar to mine and you don't want to destroy an engine it's expensive.

  2. can't quite see properly but have another look if you will..... abs is a alloy looking rectangular unit only about 4-5 inches long with micro bore pipes coming out of it... and can be a pain in the ar5e... tempremental things :)

Can't see it the the picture, but my 1994 JDM Wrx has got abs. Sorry can't be of more help.

  4. Hi My car is a 95wrx import, you may have seen from previous chats that I am having problems trying to sort my car,

the garage that i bought it from are not helping me at all the guy is a complete a***, any way I need a steering rack its going to cost around £300 to have it sorted, god knows what a new one would cost, and I need to sort the brakes, the front discs are slightly worped so I need new discs and pads, somebody said to get four pot, not really sure wnat to do I know that my budget is tight at the moment so any ideas would be gratefully excepted, oh and I am not that good with cars so I don't think I would be any good at taking bits off cars myself, (don't want much do I)

    Thanks Guys. Simon

It seems like you have got enough advice about brakes. I got a steering rack from Gradea-subaru.co.uk for £100 and it hasn't let me down. Anyway don't give up and good luck

Top guys at what they don't know about scoobs isn't worth knowing.

  6. I have got a 1994 JDM WRX and have updated my ecu to an Apexi Commander, while changing fuel pump and injectors go to the biggest size you think you will need in the future as it saves getting it done twice. If you are getting a fmic it will need to be mapped to the new arrangement. Before you go down the route of fmic i would get downpipe de-catted or fit a sports cat as this will make a big difference to the way your car performs. Also don't forget car setup as that will make the car quicker without costing huge amounts. New droplinks and whiteline anti lift kits make a huge difference to the way the car handles and thus makes you quicker and possibly more important Brakes especially if you go for more performance.

Anyho good luck with the modding and don't forget it is a like an itch you can't scratch, once you have done one lot and few weeks later you will want more.

  7. I have some Prodrive P7's fitted with an offset of 48, they fit easily over the Subaru 4 pots i have had fitted, but i believe if you have got STi Brembo brakes fitted, you need an offset of at least 52.

Usually the wheel firm should be able to tell you the offset and if they will fit your car.

  8. I keep reading queries on where peeps are putting ther apexi commanders, it's a problem and don't want it standing out like a sore thumb eh!...and what with the cable, so being as i have a few bits and bobs for phones, i found a small adjustable holder, had to adapt it a bit the get a good fixing, then where to put it!..i looked at the ash tray..i don't smoke so out it came and in to the shed.. i took off the round handle type bit..and smoothed off, attached my holder and fixed back in the car... i then tucked the cable along the centre consul out of site, and this is what i got......just an idea for those scratcing heads :)post-3839-1199360634.jpg

mark :iagree: I found the perfect phone holder in Halfords, attaches to the air vents, so out of the way of the CD and it is also adjustable for the width, with soft cushion material either side to grip the commander. The bottom of the holder has 2 prongs sticking out so the commander doesn't fall out the bottom.

  9. yeh i'm heading up tonight to stay at a mates place, then going to the stadium tomorrow eve. Should be good. I'm quite excited now!

Went last year with the family, great night out and got to speak to Sebastian Loeb. Parking was a nightmare, eventually got in car park across the road from the stadium, but we got there at 14.30 and the place was already heaving then.

We aren't going this year as the cost has gone up substantially.

  10. Crickey i though £106.9 was bad in Cambridgeshire.

Thats £5 a gallon how crazy is that, if you're giving it the beans it could work out at almost £1 a mile in fuel alone.

Why has no one been up in arms like last time, it must be costing the hauliers a complete fortune that gets passed onto us in increased costs for food etc.

We need a revolution before none of us can afford to run our cars or to eat. The wealthy and polititians won't notice the increase its just joe public like us that suffers and of course the British are to nice to complain. I never thought i would say this, but we need a couple of 1000 French over here to show us how its done.

  11. i've got JDM model and would suggest one of those over UK classic, as trim level is higher and power is better. Also get an STi as you an leave that as standard and still have a very fast car.

On the subject of insurance try Keith Micheals as they helped me out tremendously when i got my first car.

Good luck and when you get your Scooby, it will be unlike anything you will have driven upto now.

  12. I've just had a front mount fitted by Zen Peformance.

I think the secret to getting the car to go faster is to have an uprated fuel pump and bigger injectors fitted at the same time, then have it mapped for the changes.

I have just had a sports cat fitted in the downpipe, which made a large difference, but the front mount has also made at least as much difference again.

Go to reputable specialist to get the work done and you should be impressed with the result.

  13. Sorry to hear about your crash, BUT don't give up. Contact Gradea-subaru.co.uk, they will have all the bits you need and aren't expensive. They will also ship the bits to where ever you want.

If you get the car written off, think what you will be missing and i think you're right that the insurance companies won't want to know you until you are a lot older.

keep going it will be worth it in the long run.

  14. I have recently blown my engine and I hope to find a replacement. I have found a engine on EBAY from MDKL Motors which has apparently under 22000 miles and has been rebuilt etc and I was wondering if anyone has ever used this company as I cannot find any information about them.

Your comments would be much appreciated!!!

My 1994 engine blow up went to Zen performance and had a new 2.5 litre put in with additional oil cooler etc

    £4000
