  1. there are some early hawkeyes that beat the 400 quid a yr tax .

Yeah completely right, but I'm not looking at buying an older car but a newer plate and unfortunately it falls out of the criteria.

Like I said, bloody lovely cars but I'd rather spend the £400 on the car and not putting Chantelle and baby Chelsea up in a lovely Riverside flat while I'm replacing tyres due to the state of the road, no longer being replenished by what I pay.

  2. The lad that had it done came from Neilston, he now has a Fozzy with a huge amount of Horsepower. A real wolf in sheeps clothing. I'm going to stick my neck out and say I like it!

May not be everyones cup of tea but that car has had a lot of money spent and is a real credit to the previous owner. In all fairness, he isn't the first to do it...

  3. I would love a Hawkeye, WRX or STi they really are good looking cars and I am absoultely BURSTING at the seems for one, but I'm one of those people who refuses to hand over the government £400. I can more than afford fuel, insurance yadda yadda but its principle to be honest.

After having a look in various garages for the past year, most garage owners complain that they hate having them traded in as they can never get shot of them and that includes STi's. Anyone who know 1st choice on Drumoyne Road, Ibrox will have noticed that they no longer stock anywhere near as many Scoobs as they used too. Scott Baillie cars is the same.

I know these are only 2 cars out of a ridiculiously huge network, but these really have fallen into the "specialist" category now. Its just a real shame that buyers dont realise the hard work and money that people like John have poured into the cars, they just see an Impreza and reckon its had the backside ragged out of it.

  4. Thats crap mate, after 9 years of of zilch claims all of a sudden you get kicked in the crotch for one.

I swapped to Admiral, because bizarrely Elephant (Admirals sister company) quoted me £200 OVER what I paid last year and Admiral quoted me £200 under.

    Insurance companies are weeeeiirrrddd

  5. All great pictures.

I took around 40 photos and most were crap, now I know I need a tripod!

  6. We at work, like you carry a lot of expensive equipment on board. One of our lads stays in Milton, due to the area he had his van done over constantly.

Eventually we had to take it to the bodyshop and have all the handles removed along with locks and filled in. It now works on a solenoid system, teamed up with a Cobra fob to open them. We use the advised locks above on the other vans as well.

Seems a bit extensive, but when you spend £5k+ on tools like we do you want to know your investment is kept well looked after.

Hope that you can find a solution.

  7. Well after searching high and low for a decent one for over a year, I finally gave in and let her trade-in my Ibiza for her own car. Out of pocket (and headroom) we finally picked this rare wee car up in Galashiels. It has a 699cc Turbocharged engine.

I have to admit, after having a shot its a lot of fun. Shhhh, I never said that...
