  1. I have had a request from a guy in america looking to use photos from the Colin McRae memorial day for their magazine

If anyone can help out i will forward his email to you pm

    Noel

    Noel,

Thank you for your response. Wow you went to the service for Colin? It must have been very emotional. Some people from Subaru of America attended the service too. I saw Colin in Aug when he was in Los Angeles for the XGames and I was one of the last photographers who shot him professionally. Several WRC magazines will be running my photos in their tribute to McRae issue. Before Colin left for Scotland, he gave ne his home address in Lanark. Our club, Flat4LV was able to send his family a big poster of Colin with everyone's message just before the service. We also had a tribute meet in Las Vegas on 20th Oct. Everyone around the world will miss him.

anyway, I have a favor to ask...

Since I work for US Subaru magazine, Subiesport magazine, www.subiesport.com I am wondering if you or anyone in your club can donate the photos from the service. cars lining up / people gathering by the church, and etc would be nice. Since we have really tight deadline that is coming up in 2 days, if you can let me know soon, that would be great. We will run photographer's credit for sure.

I have a lot of photos mate. Let me know how to get them sent and I'll ship em off to him.

  2. In the wee small hours after work lastnight, I decided that I would put some of the footage and images I had to good use. Sorry for the Hi-Jack, and sorry for the low-res video. Youtube was having none of the hi-res.

For original hi-res PM me and you can have a copy, or indeed PM me and you can have video/pictures from the day itself. I have over 100

  3. great video Stewart - the sight and sound of us setting off is giving me goosebumps!

    any more video footage?

unfortunately the footage from the lead car didnt quite turn out the way we wanted it to - got 10 mins of me sitting stationary in Happendon as Grant started recording a bit too early :(

Thanks very much, it was more luck where we were standing when everyone left. Ive got a short video of some the cars stationary in Happendon, didnt think any footage take from Richie's car would have came out so didnt bother making any. I'll stick the other one on youtube now.

Cal- Totally agree with you mate, sounded awesome. I heard it as it arrived, hence why I turned the camera for when he left. Great sounding machine.

  4. No words could express my pride for todays precedings. 134 cars on my last unofficial count before we left for Lanark in buses. Everyone was exceptionally well behaved, the convoy alone was a sight I will never see the likes of for the rest of my days. At one point going through the Valley, I looked into tthe horizon to see nothing but Impreza's and same for looking in front. The expressions on passers-by was immense, a feeling of true belonging swoll up inside my chest. Thank you to Ritchie who gave me the exception opportunity and privelege to run along with you guys today, as he picked me up this morning and brought me home.

Congratulations and well done to you all!

(P.S I have 140 pictures and 2 videos of today, I will pick the best and stick them in a photobucket account for all to see)

  5. hi mate was that heading to paisley?the bends on both sides are dodgy, see cars off there all the time, hope all invoved are ok

Yup, those bends are mental mate. Apprently for the length of road, its one of the most dangerous in the UK but no, it was diagonally across from the Hurlet just outside the council building on the dual carriageway there.

  6. On my way to work lastnight, just leaving Barrhead after the Hurlet bar/restaraunt on the central reservation there was a smashed up RB5 and on the other side of the road in the park there was a very smashed up Corsa. Looked like a real sore one, and must have happened within minutes as of us passing as Police or recovery hadnt arrived yet. Ive no idea how the cars got into their positions after the smash, all I can say was that one of the parties must have been really travelling...

  7. What about Bothwell services, easy access from the M73,M74 and M8?

Times to suit the 20 min run to Happendon.

Need to do the rest tommorrow, just in after driving up from bloody Dorking and joining the 60 mile tailback on the M25 today!!!

I was gonna say that 1st, but thought it was maybe a bit further out and less of a convoy-distance if ya know what I mean. Bothwell would probably be best.

  8. Daft question but I take it this is meet up to head to Happendon services in convoy?

If so, I'll add my name to the list.

Stewartyboy....I'm heading from Beith way so will be heading past Renfrewshire I guess so

can pick you up.......unless someone you actually know can do it......just in case I'm

    some odd axe murderer!!!

If you could fit me in, its much appreciated mate. I'll bring my pepper spray just incase...HA
