i had this problem last year in my old celica gt4 turned out to be a loose connection in my cold air temp sensor.worth a look

thanks again for the kind welcome guys and have to say i am loving the performance from this scooby.it leaves my old celica gt4 miles behind which i have to say surprised me a lot as the celica was no slouch.i also suspect that it has got a close ratio gearbox fitted .if anyone can tell me how i could tell for sure that would be a great help.
