  1. I can't make it, I'll be trying not to crash on the Ring.
  2. I think its about time I went along to one of the meets. Been driving a scoob around Cambridge for 3 years so about time I popped my head above the parapet. 22nd in Dunstable sounds good to me, 75miles should take, what? 15mins More than happy to drive in convoy, what is the meeting place and time?
  3. I'd be up for that. need to check dates though, I might be in Newquay that weekend. Or might be doing an autumn Ring blast.... to much going on!
  4. No signs of anything on the national events threads, so I guess no official SIDC presense. Probably way to late to organise anything now as well. I might pop down if the weather is good, its only 20mins down the road for me.
  5. Hi Mate, Cheers for the offer but got it sorted now. Turns out it was a dodgey connection to the VVT Cam sensor.
  6. I sent a message back, not showing in my sent items though so let me know if I've screwed it up somehow.
  7. Cheers mate. No, no induction kit, all standard and with a nice clean brand new air filter. Where abouts are you? Phil
  8. Hoping someone can help. I need to borrow a MAF sensor for literally 2 mins. I have very rough idling and having spent 4 days with the engine in bits we think the MAF is at fault. Dealers fault code diag states. MAF sensor low CAM pos sensor Intake air temp sensor We've done the unplug it and idle speed should increase but results were inconclusive so I want to try a known good one, if only to eliminate it as a problem. If you live in or around Cambridge (In Cambridgeshire) and drive a 2001 onwards WRX or STi (I've been told they use the same unit) and don't mind me fitting your MAF to my car for literally 2mins please let me know. Mine is a MY03 STi UK. I can travel to you and the whole process should take 5mins max. As a sweetner theres some beer or a nice bottle of wine in it for you. I've copied this to Technical forum to try and catch as many people as poss. Cheers.
  9. Cheers, I'll give him a call. Have you used him at all or know anyone that has?
  10. Hi, Can anyone recommend a good Alloy Wheel refurbishers around the Cambridge area. I have a wheel an 18" WRC-1 with a large chunk gauged out and wondered if its repairable. Cheers
  11. Well, you can bet your life the Police will probably be as much use as a chocolate teapot. If your lucky they might pop round to speak to the Twat that hit you, then probably send him on a holiday somewhere nice 'so he can learn about being a good person again'. Don't forget, your entitled to have your scoob repaired at the garage of your choice and to your satisfaction. You don't have to go to the insurance companies 'approved' repairer. I had a Focus ST170 a few years back. Got hit in the back and went to 3 shops before I was happy with the repairs. Don't think Norwich Union were impressed though, ha ha.
