If you're really set on getting a FMIC have a look at the Hybrid FMIC as IMO the quality is better and theres quite a few good deals to be had
IMO whatever you do you're gonna need a remap to get there and as the later classics had issues with MAF causing issues i went and got a Simtek ecu, this would blow your budget so its something i'd go for at a latter date.
The route i went was bigger turbo vf28 md195s hybrid, H&S downpipe, Blitz induction kit, Walbro fuel pump, lightened pullies, 550 injectors, FPR and other bits and pieces..
I did it on a budget, managed to get alot of parts in f/s thread on here and s/net, bought the fuel parts and filter brand new.
