  1. well i'm damn near 2 grand for the insurance since i moved house which put it up. Thats 22 with 2 years no claims and 3 years driving. (spent a year on dads policy before getting my first car) To this day i wish I had gotten a cheep car and started insuring it from 17 just for the no claims.

Anyways hopefully more insurers will look at me once i've had it for a year...

  2. Boy Racers Hit Scooby

Boy racers have turned a 150mph car into Britain's most difficult car to insure.

Many companies are refusing to cover the 220bhp Subaru Impreza after forking out over £1million in crash claims.

Early models now cost just £1500 and teenagers are snapping up the Imprezas, nicknames Scoobys, but have to spend twice as much on insurance premiums.

The few companies still prepared to offer cover insist the driver is over 25 and - in a catch-22 move - has to have driven it for a year without a claim.

New subarus are classfied as group 19, the same as many expensive foreign sports cars.

Well I know that means I'm going to have fun come renewal time. Thoughts?

  3. must have been the day for that, same thing happened to me twice, both times changin into 5th and being stuck at the bottom or the strip, luckily i hav had this problem before so with the use of holding the clucth in i managed to coast out of the way to remove the plastic cowling round the gear stick then using extreme anger and force managed to shove the ball back in the socket........most frustrating tho.....meant on every run i was conciuos of this happening again......i was the blue STI 5 wi white wheels that held everyone up BTW lol

I now feel slightly less of a muppet.. but not by much. lol. next time say hi.

  4. who's gearstick fell off? [:o

That would have been mine on my first run. The circle clip under the shifters ball socket decided to snap off allowing the shifter to come out of its ball joint when i went into 3rd gear so I had to abort the run, coast to the end and get a tow back to the car park. still managed that in a 14.7 at 85 mph which was quicker than a lot of other stuff there. Managed to put it back together so it works but its going to be quite loose till i replace that clip. Hell of a way to remember your first  ever 1/4 mile but it shall be fixed and I shall return one day.

Got to love the two day run idea. Make a proper weekend out of it.

  6. yet another fine reason that classics are better. road tax is cheeper.

sucks for those in band g though. that is a joke when you consider what the insurance and fuel is on top. 300£ is one thing but to go to 400 in another year is a disgrace.

  7. Ok so I have just been advised by S&S while the car is in for a service, gear box repair and rear pads and disks that the rear shock absorber also has a slight leak.

Anyone mid telling me what this actually means regarding performance, safety etc? Not a good time right now for me to fork out the cash to repair it. Also would leaving it a month or two result in more repairs being needed?

  8. 5-1 FFS I never thought it would be a scoreline like that.

BLUE DRAGON will be happy (and probably well pashed by now!!!)

He may be but some of us are well on there way to drowing there sorrows... hic

When you read this Blue Dragon my congrats to you. At least it wasn't the old firm that won it.

Oh and 5-1 wasn't a true reflection of the game Gus. Was a very close first half but stupid mistakes at the end of the second gift wraped the 4th and 5th goal for them.
