Got a new clutch sorted after talking to the guys at AWD. Picked it up saturday and dropped it off at the garage this morning so hopefully it should be fitted soon and i'll be back on the road.

Hello again all. Looks like im going to be missing yet another monthly meet due to the car being off the road.

Last night while driving home from work I somehow managed to make my clutch explode. The bite point droped to the floor for 2 gear changes and it went boom on the 3rd change when i downshifted aproaching a roundabout. Managed to coast it off the road so at least i didnt block rush hour.

Funilly enough I now need a new clutch so can anyone recommend one for a MY00 UK car that can take a bit of punishment? The car is still the 5 speed box and currently has 310 BHP but if possible i would like to upgrade the clutch beyond the current the power requirements incase i do more upgrades at a later date (ie when money isnt so tight) but time and cost are currently limiting factors so if thats not possible so be it.

Links to what i need would be appreciated as the amount of clutches and kits available are confusing me right now. (still to get my head round the car having another break down)

Yes Dale he can get a little bit agitated at times with one of our more senior (by age) members of staff who is very good at ignoring everything you say and telling you to do it her way anyway. Strangely enough ignoring her takes years of training.

looks like the seller has been careful to avoide copyright issues. ie. lanark to babury instead of prodrive.

could subaru get them on the star logo? dangerous road to go down mind you as quite a few of us have stickered up replica cars bearing the same logo.

the stop the brake cylinder moving away from the car frame under intense braking. instead of some the power you put into the pedal causing the brake cylinder to move all the force goes towards the brake calipers. similar to the brake hoses mate so that all the power goes to the caliper rather than some of the power expanding the oem hoses.

well the car wasn't there tonight. hope the owner got it back ok. quite funny though to see a large patch of uncut grass where it used to be.

well it was still there today on my way home from work so i've called it in. hope the owner gets it back soon.

Ok this is not the kind of post I want to be making but I hope the owner knows this car is there and is not currently looking for it. The car is currently on a verge at the side of the road and looks almost parked so I'm hopeing its just broken down. I don't want to post exact location in case some decide it would be an easy target.

The car was a facelift T reg red classic with an after market (i think jun style) front splitter and an STI 6 rear spolier.

It has after market gold wheels with prodrive center caps and has standard UK rear lights. Didn't look to damaged apart from stone chips on the splitter.

The strange thing is the rear brakes are drums so I think it is actually a sport with the turbo bonnet etc... fitted to make it look like one.

I passed it on the way to a mates earlier tonight but when it was still there 4 hours later on my way home i thought i would stop and check it.

If anyone knows who this car belongs to let me know and I'll tell them the location.

Also I don't know if I should call the police or not as if the owner does know its there and is just waiting on a tow truck I don't want to be giving them any extra hassel. Also if its been there that long tonight I'm sure someone else will already have notified them.

was an most excellent day with most crispy results.... i've been getting pelters all day for my face and arms. in typical scottish fashion im now half red and half pale blue.

was nice seeing all the cars and was good fun hanging around team subaru pits watching them work. seeing rcms change the complete suspension / brake setup on the gobstopper to fit the drag tyres was erm.... frightening actually!

some great cars and great driving. shame andy's never seemed to hit the sweet spot however i'm sure he'll sort that now (sub 10 second runs and we're saying it was average... now thats standards for you)

big thanks to grant for the run down and back. hope i didn't bug you to much mate and i recon we did the pr bit rather well considering the heat. also nice to meet a load of others some who i knew some i didn't. for reference i was the idiot cooking slowly in a mcrae gathering shirt with long hair and no hat...

going to go put more aftersun now on and call it a night.

defiantly going next year only this time i might prep a bit better. will be nice to see if team subaru can make it the hat trick.

i believe the really high figure in 2010 is for first year of registration (brand new cars) existing cars and the 2nd year onwards will be at the 400 rate.
