About Andrealouisea

  1. Echo the ball joint comment - I though it was a CV joint, got wheel off to have a look and realised that there was shed loads of play in the lower ball joints and the track rod ends, decided to replace them before replacing the CV's - Problem cured - Did both sides, lower ball joints and track rod ends for under £100
  2. Could be a faulty fuel sender. I had to replace mine about 12 months ago. Mine would go up to the top when I filled up, then would float between the top, and the light coming on. Only way I knew how much fuel I actually had was to trip the speedo everytime I filled up.
  3. Echo the Scoobyparts recommendation. I used to work next door to Tim - His advice is brilliant. Meguiars stuff is brill but I tend to use the Tech Wax range rather than the Gold Class stuff - Just personal preference. Have tried both in the past as used to work for Carnoisseur Bedford. Hope you get as much enjoyment from your Scoob as I get from mine
  4. Working on the car! Did manage to ride my horse out this morning to make the most of the beautiful weather though Where do I start............ Firstly, New Droplinks all round, then new track rod ends, then new lower ball joints, then new strut brace, then new headlights, then checked the gap on the plugs to try and eliminate the small misfire (Which seems to have worked as gaps were only 0.8mm, rather than 1.0mm), then a wash and polish and the car looks lovely! Still waiting on the new CV's to arrive, once they are fitted the new Toyo Proxes can go on and she can go in for full geometry Big cheers to Tim at Scoobyparts too - You're a star chap!! Next plan is to put a front splitter on and replace the front fogs as one is cracked. Cant believe that I've had this car for 2 years and I'm still not bored with it. Never fails to put a smile on my face, especially when People (Generally Men) ask me in a condescending voice 'Is it your husbands car?' - Love to see their faces when I reply that 'no, its mine.....all mine!!' Andrea
  5. Its just doing it at random times - No pattern to it
  6. Tracking was done last september but tyres still cutting on the outside shoulder dreadfully. As recommended in my other thread I want to get the geometry done. Anyone recommend somwhere? Dont mind travelling - as long as they do a spot on job Thanks
  7. Thanks for that - I'll do it tomorrow. Think I've also solved the other problem - Have been searching on t'internet and have come across a number of sites which mention that the coils break down. Have had a look and sure enough . New coil now on order from Camskil
  8. They are cutting just on the outside shoulder - Pic here and here Pressures are, and always have been set at 28 and 33 Have bitten the bullet and ordered the Toyo T1R Proxes Cant wait to get them fitted up
  9. Tyre pressures are checked weekly and all directions are correct. They do seem to be cutting abnormally though - Lots of wear on the outside shoulders with lots of tread left in the middle. Tracking was checked last september.
  10. I dont really drive that fast though - I'm a mum with 2 young children - not some 'mad as a march hare boy racer' - I feel like the tyres arent gripping properly. I've no confidence in them which worries me. I never felt like that with the Continentals - I cant describe it any other way????? Have thought about the Toyo's - I used to work with Tim at Scoobyparts and he mentioned the T1R's. Maybe I'll try them and see how I get on. Otherwise its back to the Contis again - not that thats a problem
  11. First problem is that the CL on my Terzo keeps locking and unlocking its self when I'm driving along. Any thoughts Secondly, its not running right. Its OK when I'm pootling around, but is incredibly lumpy when pushed though the gears. It runs OK then when I reach a constant speed, but then becomes lumpy again when I drop from say 5th to 4th the overtake. Went in to garage 2 weeks ago. They diagnosed that the O2 sensor was knackered, they changed it but if anything its made it run even worse Its been well maintained, serviced regularly and is fitted with Denso Spark plugs and Magnecor Leads?? Any thoughts??
  12. Currently running on Goodyear Eagle F1's and hate them. I've manage to 180 it twice - Something that NEVER happened when I had a set of Continental Sport Contacts on. So do I go for the Continental's again - Or can you convince me to go for something else???? Go on..................tempt me! Andrea
  13. Am in Bedford - Where is the best place to get them from? Both front ones need replacing Happy to have recons or new Thanks Andrea
  14. We went out yesterday and set the video to record this. Sadly NTL went down in our area and all we have on the tape is the NTL error message. My husband is like a bear with a sore head, and is blaming me Did anyone else record this and if so could you lend it to me. Will happily pay postage both ways. Anything to restore calm to this house!! Thanks Andrea
