All that time and effort and you only get 12's, should be running at least 10's if not quicker.

Great road, drove this on the Borders Run couple of years back, agree with reducing it near houses and businesses but 50mph for the length of it would be a nightmare. Also how many pay attention to the 60mph limit just now.
-
Haven't used Stonelaw in ages as they never had any V-Power.
-
Best tyres I've had are the Goodyears F1's both the old style and new asymetric. I have Dunlop SP01's (came with the new wheels) on the car just now hard wearing have done 14k on them and still good life left in them, the only downside is I don't think they grip as well in cold or wet conditions.
-
We all sold up and bought Evo's.
Congratulations, enjoy the early years they grow up really quick.
-
Can you get tyres repaired after using the foam, guy in my work bought a spare wheel for his honda as he said you need a new tyre and can each time.
-
Think you tried your best and given plenty oppurtunity for Stewart to respond and square you.

McTears in Glasgow has some Motorsport Memorabilia up for auction.

Some nice pieces but think I'll go for Lots 1150 & 1151 (some easter eggs for the kids)

Don't say classic Gus you start an agruement about which is best.

The thread will not be locked or delete as it just leads to more arguements and as Mystery Machine says some valid opinions and points have been made.
To clarify a mistake was made and not notice - apologies made, no PM was deleted - the system seems to have glitches, apologise received from the majority - it would be nice it everyone did and we could all move on.
Now feel free to carry on debating.

As James has said, he doen't really benefit from the membership, in my eyes why pay for something that you dont get any benefits out of, might as well just give your money away instead or throw it to the wind
as he also said why no annoucement prior to what was happening
Neil if nobody paid we wouldn't have a forum to fight on.
As for the announcement it was an oversight the mistake was made but not noticed. I can only apologise on behalf of the committee and admin.
Now go and do some more overtime so you can pay for a membership to sell stuff.
-
WTF are you spending the money on ? can you answer that question ?
A full set of account will given at the AGM by our new Treasurer/Book Keeper.

From what i heard offline roberts original idea of restarting seemed a reasonable idea
This was a discussion the RO's had almost a year ago and it was knocked on the head as it was felt it better to fight for SIDC and turn the club around, hence the reason I am now Chairman.
-
Is this thread really benefiting the club?
We have to listen to our paying members are they are the ones that make this place possible, if they call for change then we have to listen. We are never going to please everyone but hopefully we will please the majority. A mistake was made on the For Sale section as Gus has apologised for already mistakes do happen.
Neil you said in the past that you weren't renewing because you didn't get a benefit from paying now we change the forum to benefit our paying members we get slated. You keep saying you aren't interested in the discounts, trackdays or shows so what benefit would you like to see the club offer that would make it worth paying.
As for the PM mods, admin and the committee can't access these so don't blame us. I will find out if or why the PM was delete and see if it the reason was valid.
Be assure we are putting in a lot of time and hardwork to make the club better.
Now play nice or I want my centre section back.

Hi and welcome Kenny, if you at the next SIDC day I come and say hello.

Enjoy the new car Billy.
John, the Mini's no slouch and for a thrill he's got the RS.
-
Craig McD just did mine on the newage and Duncan at Hypertech did the one on the classic so both good.
Belt and tensioners I got on ebay for the newage was advised by Craig to get a Gates belt.
-
I cracked my bumper last year and got it plastic welded and sprayed. You can't tell it was ever damaged.
-
Sounds like out way of trying to making the trail go cold to find Ron.
-
I'll get my trunks looked out.
A classic track car eats money, you either break something or want is to handle better or go faster. I'd go for Option 1.
-
No contest White Spec C.

forgot to mention looking to get booked on the SIDC Trackday on the 19th March
Hi and welcome, I'm booked for the SIDC trackday so might see you there.
If you are doing a lot of trackdays membership is a good idea (now only £20) as you save £10 on each trackday. Also special offer in the shop just now for early booking saving another £10.

A little search found this
'The Forester GT uses a relatively low output version of the EJ20 turbo – it uses an 8.5:1 static compression ratio, a small turbocharger and intercooler, relatively tame camshafts and a conservative ECU tune. Max output is 125kW and there’s 240Nm at just 3200 rpm. A five-speed manual or four-speed auto comes fitted. For the MY01 version output was increased 5kW and 5Nm. This came from altered cylinder head intake ports with Tumble Generator Valves, a larger turbine housing, fitment of a pre-turbo cat converter and updated engine management and ignition systems. '

Translation from the Japanese wikipedia

Looks like its a WRX engine but different add-ons (turbo, cams, etc) if you use it the short block should be a standard open deck and you'd have to add your wrx parts on.
