  1. I liked my old Scoobysport - relatively 'normal' looking, non offensive to the neighbours, nice on WOT. It did stick out a bit at the back though. The origional afterburner - non side exit one, was too noisy Hate to sound like a killjoy, but I even think my current Group N TSL is on the noisy side on tickover in the mornings for the neighbours, it does however sound simply amazing when on WOT Personal choice!!!
  2. I touch goats. Edited to say: PM's not working?????????? Will not 'post' I will take them - skint till the end of the month though!!!!!!! Any piccies? I will contact you on payday!!!!!! Anyone fancy a set of STI centre caps..................
  3. Was that when Jeremy Clarkson put them up against each other on one of the tracks down south? Thats what made me buy one! I had so much fun in my 106 but sold it to buy my first scoob fae Nobles. Gus Sure was!!! Get a 205GTI. I have one and it is great cheap fun. They are the most popular cars for track days. Plus, if you are going anywhere shady, you can take that instead of the Scooby!!!
  4. Gold before, albeit much brighter: Here is a picture taken half way through the operation, the front ones done and the rear ones pending powder coating: The old finish was begining to bubble/ flake and so I just bit the bullet and got them done as I needed 2 new tyres anyway so it seemed the best time. I wonder how long till I kerb them................
  5. Now there's a thought!!!
  6. Finally got all my wheels back from the powder coaters (P&J Powder Coating; Thornliebank; Glasgow - 0141 620 1652) with 2 new Toyos Proxies T1R's (£98ish from www.mytyres.com.) What do you think? I had previosuly considered them to be too dark but have convinced myself I now like them. At £28 cash per corner (excluding removal and re-fitting/ valve balance of wheel at £12.50 per corner at Machonechies, I can hardly complain!!!) In the light: Sun going down and after a good thrashing throwing off some brake dust: Sun disappearing: Sun nearly gone: Ready for a good clean and polish now!!!
  7. Cheers I though they might - will give them a buzz tomorow!! I posted this same thread on scoobynet and have had no responses yet - this forum must be better!!!
  8. Just had my wheels (replica Prodrive PFF7's) powder coated and cannot get the lock nuts back on without damaging the laquer, so as a short term fix (which may end up being long term,) I am wanting to replace the lock nuts with normal nuts (which fit no problem.) Problem is the wheels are replica Prodrice PFF7's and I understand that these have their own nuts (ooer) and not the origional Subaru ones. So, where can I get my new nuts ooer? I also need to get one plastic spiggot coupling (part that acts as a spacer/ guide between the hub and the inside of the alloy wheel.) Any contact details would be much appreciated in advance.
  9. I love white. Are those genuine Prodrive wheels or replicas (like mine!!!)
  10. I refitted by re-circ standard one on my classic as I found it a litle 'bumpy/ jumpy.' They do sound good though!!!
  11. mmmmmmmmm, ocht well, the wheels are off now!!! Cheers anyway!
  12. Graeme/ Fai - thanks for the offer of the use of your axle stands. I am going to buy some though as it is about time I got some, not necessarily for my Scooby but more for my Peugeot 205 GTI which I use for Hot Hatch days. I ended up using the spare and lowevering the car down as far as possible onto a spare wheel from my Peugeot. Before you ask, the oil leaks are from the Peugeot and the weeding is my wifes job!!! What's this about the wheels cracking? I am worried now........
  13. I bunged the guy at Macconichies to do it. When I returned to pick it up, the guy was cursing and swearing, his hands were all cut and it had taken him all morning!!! And he was a mechanic of sorts!! Once all done, the difference is superb mate - even if just for the increased turbo spool up noise!!!
  14. alright bud, i usually use my halfords power wash - it is powerful as feck!!!- in fact i wish i could hit the damm birds with it!!!
  15. Bloody chavs!!! Get on the blower to S&S and ask who they use. 01292 880 080
  16. I have a Shell fuel card as part of my job, so I could not even tell you!!! All I know is, I got £53 in the other day which was a record!!! Talk about a perk of the job!!! I did get pulled up once about why I chose Optimax though, so I have agreed to stick the 'odd' tenner in now and again to keep the company happy!!! Apparently this card covers car washes as well but like most, some things are best done yourself!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. My Scooby is getting its wheels powder over the next couple of weeks. My spare and jack are unused and I want to keep them that way(anorak) and so I propose in doing two wheels at once (company can guarantee an exact match) using a trolley jack to support the car (back/ front) while. Where are the best parts to support it. Any photos with annotation would be ideal!! I will posty some befroe/ during/ after pictures for you all when I am done (in gold - again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
  18. The STI shockers are (pardon the pun) shocking on the STI'.s I got mine done (under warranty) by S&S last week. I see that your car is an 01 and therefore I assume the warranty has expired however also see that you have STI gear on there so there could be theme here. That said, mine developed slowly and I got it repaired almost immediately - yours sound rather scary, almost like my 205 GTI with a seized back beam, but that's another story!
  19. There were no accidents at all, only a race prepped evo broke down twice On these sort of days people have far more respect for each other, unlike at hot hatch days where you get a load of idiots in bangers that they dont care about. These days are realy well run, if a faster car comes up behind you, you pull over to the right and let them by. Its not a race just a load of folk with nice cars driving them fast legally. I have no quams about taking my car on a top marques day like the SIDC track day, but would never dream of taking it on a hot hatch day as theres too many idiots Graeme You're not suggesting that I wold mind if someone ramed my 205 GTI are you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers!
  20. A lovely example mate! Black always shines up well! Shiny pictures like that always remind me of that joke of the guy selling the kettle on e-bay - look at the kettle closely and you can see him naked taking the picture! Fortunately your pictures did not reveal anything!!!
  21. Fantastic!!! I take it these were taken on the SIDC trackday? I would love to use my Scooby on the track but feel it is too much to risk. I use my £500 205 GTI instead for Hot Hatch days however imagine the Scooby would be far more fun!!! Are there many hairy moments/ offs on these days?
  22. Yip, recognise the name!!! Hopefuly your Scooby does not sound like a bus!!! Or are atmospheric dump valves accepted on this site!!! I had one on my old MY98 and thought it was cool!!!
