micra_wrc Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 folks, we are almost ready to start taking orders for McRae Gathering stickers I'm wondering whether people that work in offices with friendly post room people or have trade discounts with stationery/office suppliers would be able to get me a free or discounted price on a thermal label printer kinda like this one... the decent ones are between £50-£80 and I wonder whether the network of scottish scoobies members can get me one cheaper (or for free) before I go out and buy one? i really need a good quality one that can connect to a PC via USB and can churn out a large number of high quality labels to stick on the envelopes needed to post the stickers out to those attending the McRae weekend. if you dont ask....
scooby princess Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 My mum works for a large stationers, i will give her the details and ask her to look into cheaper options for you
scouk Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Been thinking about buying one of these myself actually.. But price always seemed too high.. Would love to know where to get a cheaper one!

Been offline for a while as busy doing up my new flat not cloud 9, more like cloud 555 Andy's fav touching-goat is on its way to you and a random comment about the state of our comms service.... can you believe that you can get digital satellite tv within 5 days of ordering it, but need to wait 2 weeks for a phone line to be installed?? whats that all about? no phone line = no broadband Edited April 11, 2008 by micra_wrc
micra_wrc Posted April 11, 2008 Author Posted April 11, 2008 The B in BT standards for *******! aye - thought i was in a cable area but alas, i'm not. Your hands are tied as you need a phone line to get internet access and they are the only providers that do it. spent 2 x 40 min phonecalls to BT (the 2nd one was to someone in India) and kinda lost it when the wummin said "the system has processed your order and our engineer will be able to come out on 25th April" wtf?? thats almost 3 weeks since making the inital request. means I need to take more time off work to wait in all day, and its unknown whether the engineer actually need to get into the house to install the bloody thing grrr
