How do they compare folks?

I have heard the 2.5s don't burble like the 2.0s but I haven't paid any attention before but it may become relevant.

Very quiet. I just put a backbox on mine and it sounds a bit better. Now i need a centre section to release the full burble

Yes they are very quiet.  I put a Prodrive WR Sport backbox on mine, and it's improved it no end - warranty friendly too...

I test drove one of these a few weeks ago and the engine note was none descript but then I tested the Sti and the burble is definately there on it. Ultimately I bought a 2L Sti PPP and it sounds just about perfect IMHO!!

B16DMC... I'd be interested in the Prodrive Back Box (price dependant) as a quick solution before I make up my mind about what to go for long term. PM me with a price please mate. [:P]

Afterburner will be pretty loud once you get a straight through centre on there I think Karps... [H]

I must say I was a bit dissapointed at first but it got better after fitting PPP. It is still quiet inside but today I heard it from outside for the first time when someone from S&S was taking it for minor adjustments.

Dare I suggest that the real reason it is quieter is because of better?/increased sound proofing.

Karps I have the Afterburner and centre section on my 2.5 STI the back box hits off the diffuser as well. After a few day of knocking I got a hacksaw and cut the corner off the diffuser.

The afterburner and centre section make a nice loud burble when you out the foot down but suprisingly quiet when ticking over.
