paulc555 Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Going to be ordering the new rims for the car within the next fortnight....as the car is standard WRX with PPP....it still sits on standard springs and shocks.....am I correct in thinking that if I change to 18" from 17" as long as the profile drops the overall radius of the wheels and tyres remains the same...therefore the gap between the body of the car and wheels will not change...wouldnt like to think that the swap to 18" would make the car sit even further up of the wheels...the gaps just fine as it is....so am I right??? cheers Paul
gus the bus Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Yes! Only difference you would/could make is with the width of wheel and offsett to make wheels sit slightly further out but tbh I would recommend just getting it lowered if you want it sitting lower???. But gap between wheel and arch wouldnt increase or decrease with the correct profile tyres Gus
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 the rolling radii will be the same ...........gap should similiar CGS
paulc555 Posted April 4, 2007 Author Posted April 4, 2007 thanks guys.... Gus...I dont want it lowered...im trying to keep the gap the same...was concerned it would sit higher.....but thats great if it remains the same......standard is how i like it just for now..... see you all soon.... The gap in the arch was slightly less than before, when I got it lowered on the Tiens it was fine. I know the rolling radius changed because before the change, there was a difference of 5mph between my speedo and my Road Angel. After the change, there is 1mph to 0 difference. Works fine for me though.
cusco kid Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 the 2 tyre sizes you can use are 225/40/zr/18 or 235/35/zr/18 you loose out in ride quality, also car becomes camber conscious and a little nervous but this can be overcome with mods geo[H]
