What a cracking day it was today up at Crail.

the sun was splitting the sky.

An eventful run up and then some good times being laid down on the track.

thanks to Fai17(Peter) for letting me pax for this adventure.

the scooby's set some good times and one even beat the times of some of the pugs and corsas even with a gear stick that fell off half way down the 1/4 mile (you know who you are lol).

Below is a friendly battle between a DCI and a stealth(WRX).  guess who won

Good day had by all a think, shame about nanaki's gearstick, at least you made it home ok!

A loved it today, was soooo addictive!  Cheers to Jac for the tips and the fuel suplement! [:o]

Managed a 13.3 which I was well chuffed about, hopefully do better next time!

That would have been mine on my first run. The circle clip under the shifters ball socket decided to snap off allowing the shifter to come out of its ball joint when i went into 3rd gear so I had to abort the run, coast to the end and get a tow back to the car park. still managed that in a 14.7 at 85 mph which was quicker than a lot of other stuff there. Managed to put it back together so it works but its going to be quite loose till i replace that clip. Hell of a way to remember your first  ever 1/4 mile but it shall be fixed and I shall return one day.

must have been the day for that, same thing happened to me twice, both times changin into 5th and being stuck at the bottom or the strip, luckily i hav had this problem before so with the use of holding the clucth in i managed to coast out of the way to remove the plastic cowling round the gear stick then using extreme anger and force managed to shove the ball back in the socket........most frustrating tho.....meant on every run i was conciuos of this happening again......i was the blue STI 5 wi white wheels that held everyone up BTW lol

Well after finding out from jim that a scrappy in auchinlech had some scoobys in for breaking i went of in search. After a good  20 minutes of looking around i found what looked like a donor only to discover that it was an automatic. typical. 10 minutes later and i found an early classic in green which had been striped of almost every part but i was hopeing the clip i needed would still be there. They kindly lifted it up on the forklift for me to check and bingo there it was. Some encouragment later and it was mine. No charge either as they couldn't quite believe thats all i wanted.

Fitted it back at the house and now all seems well. Gear change is smooth and the stick isn't jumping up into the cabin when i go into 3rd like it did on the strip. Will be keeping an eye on it to make sure its going to stay fixed.

All in all a happy ending to what could have been a lot worse.

For those who havn't got a clue here is a pic of the bit that broke (highlighted in red) back in place.

A Crail Day Out....

1 and a 1/2 tanks of fuel - £75

Entry to Crail - £7

Going on the strip - £15

Beaking a clip and pulling your gearstick into the cabin half way down your first run - Priceless
