HairyDJ Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Some good background / technical stuff at http://www.pneus-online.co.uk/tyre-technical-advice.html I'm about the shred my Michelin Pilots on a track day and then plan to jump up from 225/45/17 on 8" rims to try out 235/40/17 - fancy giving Falken a try this summer. toyo Snowprox 215/45/17 now back in the garage after 7500 winter miles and only worn down by 2mm from new since november
Jamis Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 I would say go for 215/35/18 m8 as all the classics i have done run these, and they dont cause any probs.Even with you having 8x18 they will be fine.I change tyres every day and if i go for 18's i will be running these hope this helps. Jim
the blue dragon Posted April 1, 2007 Author Posted April 1, 2007 thanks jim, think youve just made up my mind for me. [Y] thanks to all for advice [Y] Iain
gus the bus Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Iain, would deffo agree with James on this one. 35/18's on the classic. but you could probably go upto 225's. Also go for Yokohama Parada 2's or Toyo T1's for the best grip/performance. Try DPH in Bathgate too as sometimes they have "specials" on these or Jim Dickson in Cumbernauld is ALWAYS good on price. Gus
Hepy Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Back in the days of the classics if you were to go for the optional 18" wheels, they would come with 225/35/18 tyres. Well that's the tyres the put on P1s if they had 18s, so I assume it was the same for all classic scoobs.
WRX Haz Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 I will get Jamis to check out prices for you tomorrow m8.
