scoobyiain Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Washed my car today and parked it outside our flat at 12 this afternoon, went up town with my dad and best man to get fitted for our kilts for my wedding. Had a few drinks afterwards and walked home to find this And worst of all this A bloody chip in the paint right down to the base coat. To say that i'm angry is a complete understatement as some of you may know i take pride in my cars appearance and spend many hours cleaning it etc. Once i have calmed down a bit i will be straight on to the phone to the council and getting them to repair the damage caused on the front wing. I know they have to grit the roads but surely in a built up area like mine where there is cars parked on both sides of the road they could take a little more care as im sure it's not only my car damaged. Oh i feel physically sick because of this and will not stop untill full damage is paid for. I have gave the car a quick wipe down with some quick detailer and a cloth but will need to give it a full wash again to get all the salt off. [:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]
boris b Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Jeeze mate...Nightmare. Hope you get it sorted out
martin_allen Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 The scratch doesn't look like grit i'm afraid. looks like an attack of jealousy by a ned or two! I've got a majot collection of chips on my bonnet though thanks to a gritter. Leaving it alone as the car has had doors opened on it in car parks, people push past it and been hit by a branch. Wouldn't mind but it was pristine, i've only had it 3 months and it is turning into a shed! 5t.
marky.t.s Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 FFS.Iain thats fekin p1sh mate,as you said,we all know you take pride in your cars appearance,to come back to it and find that???Feel for you mate, hope you have some luck with your local council, but,you know what these folk are like, theres a very slim chance of any compen. from them.Dont let it get you down .

jamesm Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 I hate gritters, mine got battered twice on Sunday parked outside my parents house. Was going to move it after the first time but my sister conviced me that they only ever get one gritter a day. So sure enough, three hours later, it came along again. Hope you get it sorted soon mate.
