Been chatting to Nick at work today about meeting points for Sunday and we came up with this rough plan. See what people think. 2 meeting points: 7:30am at Welch`s. (for those that live that side of Cambridge) 7:30 Milton Tesco. (for those that live that side of Cambridge) Then both groups meet at: 7:45 Cambridge services at Swavsey on A14 . There is a Maccy D`s so Rob can get brekkie. Is this a good idea?????? All these could be rough times. 1 last point do I have too much free time at work to think about his????[*-)]

kevin_baker Posted May 18, 2007 Author Posted May 18, 2007 Hi Guys I've been to Alconbury today and met Ben, Katie, and Sarah. They're a great bunch of people and there is so much space available that we'll all get lots of driving opportunities so please ensure you fill up! I admit I had a quick try..... and spun at the 1st cone[:$] I blamed the tyres! Sarah said I was going to fast and not listening to her yelling "slow down"[] It's gonna be a great day!

Cluck Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Fantastic day guys [H] My thanks go to this lot, in no particular order Kevin - for organising it [] Rob (from Ben Elliott Racing) - for showing me that it is possible to put my car sideways in a controllable manner [] Dibs - for inviting me along in the first place Everybody who went - for being slower than me and earning me a bottle of wine [] [] The only problem is that I really should have taken a hat or some sun-block [] Thanks again. The real shock of the day had to be Charlie in his Defender though []. Apparently, he was only a second or two slower to the first hairpin than most of us, only really losing time down the long back straight run. Charlie, sir, you are a true legend []. When's the next one [] (for reference, my 200SX is running ~330bhp @ flywheel and has uprated anti-roll bars and Nismo suspension - not coilovers, just perfectly matched dampers and springs for fast road/light track use. It was also my first day where I've put the car even slightly sideways in a controlled manner - well, some of the time anyway []. Although I hit just over 130mph down the backstraight, during the practice run, the fastest I hit during the timed runs was ~125, including the fastest run)
kevin_baker Posted May 21, 2007 Author Posted May 21, 2007 Dibs - for inviting me along in the first place Everybody who went - for being slower than me and earning me a bottle of wine [] [] Or do you mean "Dibs - for inviting me along to take what would otherwise have been his first place". [] []
there goes charlies bigends Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Great day Kevin, big thanks for organising it. I am glad i came with the Land Rover now as i had a great day
chief-long-shin Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Any space for a newbie to either come and run or take pictures on the day - or was this yesterday????
