kev 580 Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Was looking at investing in the zymol starter kit for sale on scoobyworld. Is this stuff worth the money or can someone point me towards some equally as good products for less money cheers kev
oobster Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Kev Rich @ Polished Bliss is probably a good person to ask - have a look at his site at http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk He also sponsors the car care section over on ScoobyNet. He's from up your way too - Inverurie I think. Andy
thefastone Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Not Inverurie, Oldmeldrum I believe... But yeah, they dont have a shop or anything, but you can call on them when ever you want for supplies, and advice, he's very good, and if you have the cash is a really good valet...
Fee Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 use it on the 911 and impreza. Good Stuff. Can be a bit dusty if appiled to thik. But smells great ;0 Also rate Autoglm super resin polish if your feeling lazy! Much easier to apply/take off
ormiboy Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 another vote for zymol here. Like fee says sometimes takes a bit of effort to get off and dont keep it too long as the last lot i had kinda went off! Not that my car looks like its been near a bottle for a bit! Willie
scoobyiain Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Collonite 476 is the wax i use and gives upto 4 months protection, pretty good for about £18 a tin. Would also say to use menzerna polish or the jeffs range before applying the collonite. Here is some results from the above Or on black cars Would def give polishe bliss a shout for any products you need to buy.
darryl_martin Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 I've got some of the japon stuff and it's pretty good. Lasts better than some of the other stuff I've had, but a wax should only act to protect the already shiny surface, so a lot of the work should be in getting the paintwork up to scratch (no pun intended[]) so best to get a good paint cleaner as well. Have e-mailed PB earlier today and am waiting to hear[]. Might try some of the Poorboys blue paste wax next. After the zymol...the old scoob[:'(] ....and the new one[]
Boyakasha Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Swissol is the dogz, been using it for over 5 years and wouldn't use anything else. You pay for what you get.
cusco kid Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 hi kev save your self a fortune try teflon wax/ just look at the reports about this . ask tommy t-cut and sammy the shammy how good it is also coat your wheels to stop brake dust sticking and clean your windows inc front screen (acts like rain x) regards geo
wrxmania Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 I use Swissol amongst other stuff - and it is the business! Also using other products from Rich at Polished Bliss (highly recommended) - such as JEFFS WERKSTAT shampoo (very important to wash the car with the right stuff), but wax such as Poorboys Natty Blue Paste Wax (about £11 a tub) is brilliant too, easy to use on and off and well worth the money - 80% good as Swissol. True phrase from above - you get what you pay for - and, importantly, read the guides on polished bliss on how to clean and prtect your car like the pro's - well worth it and once polished and sealed (Carlack 68/AIO or equivalent) it will last months with only good washing technique. Takes, when the car is clean, no more than 25-30 minutes to apply and remove a full coat of wax with no crappy white residue as these are waxes - not polishes like most Autoglym/T-Cut etc. Its' a wax you need to protect but for some reason a lot of people use polishes when their car does not need polished as such. Brian []
colzo Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 I'm very happy with Swissol, great products and protection. It costs a little more but well worth it! []
kinghorn Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 zymol is the bees, the porsches at the garage have been getting it for about 7 years, auto glym is alos good super resin is very easy to use,
scoobyiain Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Another thing to remember is to only polish your car 2-4 times a year max as you will end up taking the paint off if you polish it alot.
Boyakasha Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 zymol is the bees, the porsches at the garage have been getting it for about 7 years, auto glym is alos good super resin is very easy to use, Which garage is that, it's not T&C as they use Auto Glym
