Scooby Hoo? Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Hi. One and all just carrying out a small survey. I'm considering having full blown graphics fitted onto my 2002 wrx. Simple question would they deter you from buying the car i.e. owned by boy racer type.[:'(] YOUR THOUGHTS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. [Y] PS I do need a Zimmer frame to get to the car but not to " Light the fires and burn the tyresssssssssssssssssss " [][][] Am I the oldest member in the club with car ? 58[+o(]
Guest leebo77 Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Wouldn't put me off. After all, a hairdryer and some patience and they'd all be off. And yes, you're older than me. []
mick_weatherill Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Theres a few that look older [] But your only as old as the woman you feel [Y] go for it with the Graphics you know you wanna []

Baz69birds Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Yes it would put me off. But like LEEBO77 said get a hairdryer & a little time & take them off before the sale. & you dont have to do it all at once!!! bits @ a time keeping it simetrical (sp) over a couple of days, will make it look different every day. []
Dalthegooner Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Wouldn't put me off so long as all of the service history is good; and, as has been said they come off without too much trouble. Age is just a number. We may have to get old but that doesn't mean we have to grow up []
baser999 Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 ........owned by boy racer type.[:'(] ......Am I the oldest member in the club with car ? 58[+o(] Boy racer type............did you have anyone in mind? 58?...................certainly older than me [][][Y]
ROAR Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 full graphics wouldnt put me off didnt put me ol dad (grandpa) off neither he's in his 70's he has a black classic wagon with blue graphics he loves his ol wagon still makes him smile from ear to ear everytime he gets in and drives it[]
HOL Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Its all a matter of taste and perception. People think of a clean car and an umblemished car and hence some may think that stickers will damage paintwork. Dean (Scoobytoo) got some negative comments about the graphics when he sold his car. I did think about having some fitted to mine, but buttled out in the end. If you like them, get them! You can always removed them when you come to sell the car.
quentin_moss Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 It doesnt put me off, although everyone has different views. I had mine done by Herman and Scuzz and I think they look wicked. I like to stand out and there are far too many silver classics about, but like its been said taking them off is a doddle.
rossyboywrx Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 I know what you mean im starting to feel really old[] graphics wouldnt put me off as long as they are done well[H]
HairyDJ Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 I love the look of some fully graphic'ed cars, but my concern isn't the effect that they would have on resale - as others have said, they can come back off (hopefully not leaving a shadow?). My worry would be that it makes you more of a target - keying in a car park and extra attention on the road from plonkers and from those very nice gentlemen with blue lights on their roof (or just hidden behind the grill[] sometimes). What did you stickered up folk find from that angle?
Nudge Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 I found you get more attention from the general public with a full blown graphics look, and kids love them, i'm always gettin told "smart mota mate", and as for the boys in fluroesent jackets....never been stopped, i found you get less hassle from them if you stand out. Im having mine re-done a bit more bolder soon gooooooo on you no you wanna
loonybin Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 I love em mines got the full lot wouldn`t have a scoob any other way.[Y]

What did you stickered up folk find from that angle? We've never had our keyed in a car park or anything untoward happen to it, as nudge said they do get lots of attention from the general public, from kids its usually is it a rally car? do you rally it? And from the adults its usually contained to nice car mate, is it fast, and picture taking on motorways. Never found the boys in blue a problem with it, they just tend to smile especially if scuzz is driving []. Had a highways agency guy ask me at a roundabout last week how much the car had and then asked if i wanted to see who got to the next set of light first me or them, needless to say they looked nice in the rear view mirror. Thats my personal view on it anyway.,
