Guest leebo77 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Has anyone on here done any advanced driving courses? If so, any recommendations? Cheers
Pele Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 The driver training day at North Weald is a good one, I'll be going when I'm allowed to drive again []
yogi- Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 my old man is doing his at the mo, I.A.M institute of advanced motorists.
HOL Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 I did a day with Don Palmer the other day. He has an article in this months True Grip. It was OK, but I did not come away with as much new 'stuff' as I was hoping. BUT, I did make a GT4 and a Holden driver feel sea-sick when they sat in the back of my car as I did a handling course! HairyDJ Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Depends what sort of advanced driving you're looking for? IAM is worth a go for road work - take what you want from the training and skip the test if that's your preference. ROSPA do a more complex choice of courses that IAM - all sorts of different badges if you like the bureaucracy. If you're looking for tack based tuition, then give some of Stormy's sessions a try. If you want more advanced track or road stuff, it would probably pay to be pretty specific about what you're looking for and hope someone has taken that path before you. Try chatting to Ben Elliott - he was the tutor at the Arundel track training days - http://www.benelliottracing.com/ - I'm sure he's happy to train up for road or track stuff. Lives in Chichester area now, but pops home to mum in Leighton Buzzard, so could be local enough for you? Cheers, David
