craig_harey Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 gus the bus i believe i spoke to you regarding fitting winglets pick up mine tomorrow is there any thing i need to watch out for when fitting ? cheers craig
xraydave Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Craig, If your talking STI winglets onto a newage WRX, I've just fitted some to mine, the only thing I had to do was remove the plastic clip holders from the winglets as they stopped the winglets sitting flush. Then other than drill a couple of slots in the bumper recess for the clips (careful here as mine were such a tight fit that I cant get them off again), they were very easy to fit. (I bought the correct captive nuts and bolts from Subaru with my winglets). Hope this helps. Dave
craig_harey Posted February 10, 2007 Author Posted February 10, 2007 Think i have ordered the bolts and stuff do they need putting on with double sided tape or any other sticky stuff?
xraydave Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 No, they are the clip design and just slide into place over the existing holes in the front bumper, should be petty straight forward when you get them and offe them up to the car. Dave
gus the bus Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 The other way to do it is rather than drilling through the bumper you can remove the 2 clips with an art knife and use coachwork tape to stick it instead. better if you change your mind later and want a different spoiler/splitter like I did. Leaves no holes and works perfectly. Gus
