coulty Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Well after all the hassle it has finally paid off. Got the car mapped today by andy and to say it is fast is an understatement!! In case some people don't know i have a 2.1 fully forged closed deck block (also known as a 2.2 in HKS/JUN world) with ported sti3 heads running a 20g turbo. I used a 10% meth mix and it was mapped to 1.6 bar running approx 94% injector duty on 550cc injectors at 4 bar static. Max boost of 1.6 bar was achieved at 3000rpm (3040rpm for those that like accuracy!) and the boost comes in very hard with more torque than a 2.0. I am well chuffed!! [] Stuart
wilky Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Well done Stuart! Im glad it all came good in the end. Are you going to give me a run for my money??[] Callum W
coulty Posted February 7, 2007 Author Posted February 7, 2007 Well done Stuart! Im glad it all came good in the end. Are you going to give me a run for my money??[] Callum W LOL i doubt that mate. Will be running at most somewhere between 400-420bhp so not a patch on your 450bhp!!!
wilky Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 It only showed 424 on the rollers Stuart, even though it was inconclusive, I still dont know if its 450, 440 0r 460. Numbers dont matter anyway its the pink thing behind the wheel and what it does that counts. Dont ask me to go to crail though because Im pants at it. Besides Ive pulled the dash out in preperation for the cage and im going to flock it, and it need a remap, and the mafsim rescaled, and the catchcan modded, and the interior painted and the new interior in, and the seat bars welded in, and the intercom wired up and the and the and the and the..................ffs. It may be ready it may not. Feckin subarus!!
_jac_ Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Nice one Stuart sounds like you got youself a real flyer. 1.6 bar @ 3000rpm nice man, very nice man, very very nice man [] JAC
STi_Bandit Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Very nice mate, look like a beast just sitting in the driveway when me and drb5 were up. Bandit
coulty Posted February 7, 2007 Author Posted February 7, 2007 Cheers Bandit and JAC. It is a real handful now with the boost coming in. Better get those new tyres sooner rather than later!
andrew_forrest Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Quite amusing when I suggested to Stuart that he should wind the diff setting forward to stop it going sideways so much under power [:|] He replied, "it's a 50/50 centre diff" !! Andy
micra_wrc Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 good news Stuart hope you get some good driving/fun from her now [] [au]
coulty Posted February 8, 2007 Author Posted February 8, 2007 Quite amusing when I suggested to Stuart that he should wind the diff setting forward to stop it going sideways so much under power [:|] He replied, "it's a 50/50 centre diff" !! Andy LOL too true. It even made andy look up from his laptop! (must have been bad!!) Thanks Imy, I do too!
the squiggle Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Well done mate. Wanna buy a handy wee fire extinguisher for behind the drivers seat? Now take Sho away for a bloody good holiday, she deserves it for the grief your car has given her in the past couple of months
coulty Posted February 8, 2007 Author Posted February 8, 2007 Thanks Grant I already have my carbon fibre fire extinguisher in my glovebox (after my wee 'experience') Our 1st anniversary is coming up in a month so i will take her away somewhere nice []
st3ph3n Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Good to hear Coulty. I remember talking with you, Colin and Johnny last year at Dastek about the plans and it's good to hear it's turned out really well. I'll need to tell my wee cousin as your car was his favourite from the trip to Time Attack/D1 last year.
coulty Posted February 8, 2007 Author Posted February 8, 2007 Thanks Stephen. I'm sure your wee cousin would like the changes in both spec and speed of the car now. Perhaps you should tail me on the way to this years Time Attack/D1 !? lol
colin_ross Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Glad to hear it all went well mate. It sure was a rocky road but glad you can finally enjoy the car now. P.s. remember to book your slot in at Playsatan garages for your next round of mods.
fai17 Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Brilliant news Stuart,,,,,,Crail on 18th then? The modding is full ifs, buts, ups and downs but it's great when it all works out at the end. Happy days[]
johnnyr6 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Thank f#@k that pile of c#@p is out of my hair!!
