Neofox Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Hi guys. Wee problem. Got whiteline droplinks fitted to the front of the car and after 200 miles i hear a knocking. On closer inspection this is what i have found! Front LeftFront Right Now to me the font right that is still attached looks like its being pulled to the side instead of lying straight.Any ideas on how it should look??CheersIan
colin_ross Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 What year of car have you got. If I remember correctly some years have offset links on the fronts.
colin_ross Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Don't take this as gosple as I'm not 100% sure about your year but have a look here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Subaru-Impreza-Front...1QQcmdZViewItem
sheep Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Not quite getting you. I think what playsatan means is that some cars have offset droplinks and some cars dont! And looking at yours they sit slightly offset.
Neofox Posted January 27, 2007 Author Posted January 27, 2007 Aye got that just was meaning about the link to the ebay item
cusco kid Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 hi bud the drop link itself should be straight i think you have got a bent arb or bkt on wishbone come through to my house and i will cheque, iif its a d/link failure i will get replaced under warranty geo PHONE ME ON 01383 882233
colin_ross Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Think it was just an example! Yup, just as an example as I didn't have a pic handy.
Neofox Posted January 29, 2007 Author Posted January 29, 2007 Thanks for everyones input i do appreciatte it. Car is now sitting at the garage so i should find out tomorrow what he plans on doing. Was wondering anyone out there with a 97 V3 Sti with the factory anti-roll bar and whiteline droplinks? if so would they mind taking a picture for comparison. Thanks Ian
micra_wrc Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 let us know how you get on Ian, my RA needs front and rear droplinks soon
wrxmania Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 I have whiteline rear droplinks & factory roll bar - but they fit perfectly.
Neofox Posted January 29, 2007 Author Posted January 29, 2007 Aye got the whiteline rear droplinks and anti-roll bar and touch wood no problems with them except for a week bit of creaking!
scoobyfuzzy Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 i also have the same droplinks on my car, n they also sit offset, r they suppose to sit straight? i also get a knocking from the front but the bushes r still in place. fuzzy
cusco kid Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Hi m8 i offered you help but got no reply ///////i think i can help as i supply and fit many whiteline parts ///////////If you look a pic no1 your d/link has no large washer fitted to it on the btm, this washer cant just vanish, i dont think its been fitted,Both top washers have been fitted your o/s has not got one at btm also. your arb is looks like its bent poss causing the problem +no washers fitted = failure, i suggest you get the arb checked out asap for damage if you want contact me and i will check it for you , ialso have a sti v3 sitting here at my house regards GEO
Neofox Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 Hey Geo. Apologies for not getting back to you personally but as i said the car is back at the garage that fitted them. Both droplinks were fitted with washers on both ends as i had a nosey after it was done, i just didnt think much about the angle as i thought it was just meant to be like that. The only one thing that keeps cropping up is the arb damage but upon inspection i could not see any noticable dent or bending, if there is then its spot on semetrical bend!! suppose i might get it uprated to the whiteline front arb but dont really want to go that hard up front.
cusco kid Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 hi bud i can get you a 22mm front arb and dl/inks that wont make it too hard i would suggest d/links with rose joints i can supply that type they allow for more flexablity in susp/movement geo
Neofox Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 Cheers Geo, once i know more from the garage i'll give u a shout if i need anything []
