Bought_a_pup Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Hi all. I'm new to the forum and scooby-doos so big hello to you all. [] Just bought my first scooby don't quite know what it is! WRX type3 registered on a P plate imported 94-96 perhaps? Bought on E-bay impulse buy.. Wife still squeezing my cubes!!!!! It has a big 3" decat full system, twin fans on radiator, set of three gauges in centre console volts, boost and oil temp. Is there any way to definatly say what it is? looking for oppinions on logical and sensable performance upgrades that should be done and in which order? Any help much appreciated.

st3ph3n Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 [ i m g ] http://www.somesite.com/blah/picture.jpg [ / i m g ] Like that, but remove the spaces. Or click on the button next to the smile face at the top of the text entry box which will popup a nice wee popup window to help you out.
Bought_a_pup Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 So would i need to put the pictures out on to the internet first?

SAB Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Im no expert but it looks nice however im sure some sort of radiator is meant to be conected to the pipes in the engine bay.
Bought_a_pup Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 Yip that was the first thing to go pop! Made it 400miles from Kent to Glasgow before it went. Got a new radiator today from Dacars (Allys) for £85 which i thought was quite good . Will get it fitted in teh morning ready for the weekend []
Bought_a_pup Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 How do you know it is a version 2? Whats the major differances?
the squiggle Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 How do you know it is a version 2? Whats the major differances? Erm i read it on the back of a Frosties packet Look at the tag at the bottom of the drivers seatbelt, this will give you an approx manufactured date. With it being on a P plate, i would say either Aug, Sept or Oct 96 but i would doubt Sept or Oct as the Version 3 production run started on Sept the 4th at the Star City facilty at the foot of Mount Fuji. If it is earlier than this it should be on a N plate but not to worry as DVLA as lax when it comes to early imports and sometimes approximate the time the car was manufactured P plate started on Aug 96 and the Version 3 was released to the Japanese public on the 12th of October and the last Version 2 was sold in Nagata on the 18th of Oct to a Hidetoshi Uregowa, a 32 year old fish trader ....but dont listen to me as i know nothing about the early cars
4Hero Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 welcome to sidc mate [Y] tip: you do not ask the squirrel "How do you know it is a version 2?" [:|] Do you not know who he is? Have fun, and enjoy SIDC!
Bought_a_pup Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 You quite clearly know your stuff!! Whilst i can not even read.[:$] Its an N plate i just checked out the seat belts and they have 11 / 1995 written on both front belt labels. So you reckon this would be a fair judge of when manufactured? Does this make it a version 2? or is it still a 3? There is a sticker on the bonnet in Japanese that refers to S3. The cars history is dubious. Thanks for your help.[Y]
