for all the gurus out there,

the clutch return spring i think has broken, to get to that area i know i have to lift off the intercooler, now here is the question, is there anything in the intercooler when i loosen it off, to be wary off? if not great.

if the spring is there, how else would the clutch pedal stick.

car is a 92 classic.

Nothing to do with the spring at all Alan...infact you can throw the spring away for all the use of it.

What's happening with the clutch exactly? Just not returning fully up when you take your foot off it? How high up does it come up? Could maybe do with a bleed. Lucky you. [:o]

hi dave,

the pedal comes up half way and sticks, foot under the pedal and push it up. sometimes it returns the full height.

its on the old car not the new one[:D]

Does the pedal just take wee bit of pressure to get it to clunk up to the top, or does it need pressure right till it gets to the top?

If it jumps the rest of the way up after touching it, then i'd say you prolly need to bleed it, or if it needs pressure right to the very top, then you can grease/oil the pedal. There is also an adjuster which is a bit difficult to get to, at the top of the clutch pedal, but it may do some good.

 

WD40 is your saviour though me thinks. [:D]

had this very occasionally before and added the spring which had disappeared. never happened again since.

There is hardly any pressure in the spring and it's nothing to do with the clutch pedal side of the whole thing, only the clutch fork.

just what sorted it out. had bled before and there was no change. new spring wasnt genuine. perhaps fork pivot/realease bearing was a wee bity stiff then.
