As ever Scotland has been ignored, Imy I know you have sent stuff in in the past for nothing to come of it

Shame

Here hopes that next time there will be something more than just a segment in the Santa Cruise report, as if I'm led to believe, there have been reports sent in about the September run, Rolling road day, Crail etc,

Graeme (not wanting to sound separatist)

Look forward too seeing True Grip every time it comes out. But consistantly no reports on "Scottish" stuff. Is the stuff that you guys getting through or are we just being ignored???

Very disappointing considering all the activity thats been going on north of the border[;)] I'm sure there are lots of good things going on "Dan Sath" but a bit of balance would be nice. As a lot of very good events are going unreported[:'(] moan! moan! moan![:D]

Anyhoo, on the positive side, nice tech bit on replacing brake hoses (S:NET group buy) since mine aint been done yet[:$] and events thatthe other regions have been up to!

I heard somewhere that there are more English people in Scotland than Scottish.

Is this true anyone ?

Before we all start getting paranoid [;)]

There has to be a good reason for the distinct lack of Scottish coverage.

What articles have been submitted ?

when ?

and by whom ?

Have the authors received any confirmation that their articles were received in time to meet the deadlines ?

or even at all ?

Were the articles emailed and could they possibly be lost in the ether ? or were they sent by old-fashioned snail-mail ?

From what I gather , we are still waiting to read about ...

Crail club-day ,

Dastek rolling-road day ,

September 2006 run

and

The 2005 Highland run article which was to appear in (now defunct) Scoobymag.

I appreciate that both the magazine and the forum has been through 'staff' changes etc but,

Surely it is as simple as ... if there is not enough room for an item this edition then it is included in the next one ???

I look forward to my copy of True Grip dropping through the door , but it is very disappointing to find so few Scottish articles getting through , especially when 'Scottish Scoobies' is such a large part of SIDC.

Ally.

I'll hold my hands up and say I've not finished the Santa Cruise articles as yet, but should have it done VERY soon and it will be submitted in time for the next issue, where hopefully it will be published. I don't think it would have made the current issue to be honest. The deadline for getting it to the publishers before it is sent out is 6 weeks I believe, so that's pre-santa cruise.

In terms of the other ones I'd just go back on what Ally said. The 2005 highland run was to be published so I had expected to see that, but have the other ones definitely been submitted etc. Best to get the facts before jumping on the volunteers.

At least you've got yours [;)]

Nae luck mate. But the post office is still as mince as it was before Chrimbo (I use it a lot).

The front cover is interesting though, British No. Plate on the scoob (Welsh rally maybe ?)

I think that Graeme (G.mac) posted a video of Petter Solberg in practice and the exhaust was on the right hand side if looked from behind.

Just a rally mod or is it next gen scoob ?  Oh, and look at the glow from the tailpipe on page 35.

No need for Graems Vid now as I flick through it again.

I think the rally cars have always run with the pipes at that side (edit: new ages that is), and the official SWRT cars no matter where they are rallying are always running british plates because Prodrive who run them are based down in Banbury and the cars are reigstered there.

its dissappointing/ironic when you read that they need more members to submit articles [;)]

The 2 articles that I had submitted (Sept run and starting up SS clothing) never made it into the mag.

Its possible that I missed the deadline for the Sept run to go into this version so fair enough.

But it does seem to me that the focus is squarely focussed on stuff happening down south.

Agree
100% with what Gus and Ally has said but a bit of recognition for
Scottish Scoobies would be nice, considering that the number of threads
we've got outnumbers all other regions put together x4 and even the main "For Sale" section of the club [:D]

The only Scottish representation I can see again is the same as last issue, nothing from our events apart from the following ADVERTISING. SS Subaru, john r. weir, Eden Subaru, Brian downie and a page of discounted dealers." that's says it all "

Latest figures for regional threads/posts :

Scottish scoobies 12,424 / 148,150

CADs 711/   24,142

SWS   443/ 6,555

Kent 1,820/   25,221

Oxon    70/   1,045

Bucks 48/  463

As Imy highlighted , these figures surely show that Scottish Scoobies is the most popular part of SIDC forums and as such merits us a good bit of coverage in the club magazine ?

Was informed a good while ago that the article I did for Dastek would not make it in this issue, maybe next issue. Lets not get paranoid folks there are loads of events all year round that deserve recognition and no doubt loads of events never make it into the magazine at all. True Grip does well to give members good articles to read lets not start this Scottish scoobies deserves rubbish.

not even one mention of santa cruise? Whats all that about [8o|]

Fook me is this the usual support again to the show of support to the volunteers that spend there time putting it together. A couple of points;

1. NO santa cruise article recieved????

2. The Dastek rolling road will be in the next issue as we were pushed for space on the last issue.

3. Crail i believe will be the next issue as it missed the deadline.

So the usual BS, sorry for being pi55ed but as you may or may not know the last issue i was on my own as Bob (Blueboy) was quite seriously ill in hospital, and it would be nice to be asked for the facts before the Keyboard warriors set to tear us apart.

If you feel you can contrbute a little bit better than us then the seat will be free.

Sorry for my spur of the moment rant editors, I forget sometimes that all the work done here is voluntary.

The magazine is informative, and I do look forward to reading it, it's just that even though we (not me personally) submit articles, they never seem to be published.

I would submit articles, but all I know is how to photoshop cars, and drawing cars using css, which would be a bit boring[;)

Thats a good point Spooks.

I am new here but understand figures and effort.

I only got me Scooby in September and received me first "True Grip" in October - and the latest one Today. Lovely Glossy tabloid I must admit.

But, having a look at the SIDC site (and not knowing how long it's been run for) does beg the question, why have the Scottish Scoobies (by postings) have almost a 257% better posting rate than the Sooth of the Boarders (or the site in total) ?

Doesn't really add up.

Talking Cack again.

Off to get an Indian. Sorry Imy.
