darryl_martin Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 I would like to thank Shiralee for organising this and for everyone that turned up and made it a great night Good food, great company......what more do you want [] (don't answer that []) ps...Padtwo yes i did as well and thought exactly the same so it must of been the road [Y] That's why I pulled over.[] Glad it wasn't just me!!
HairyDJ Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Echo the big thanks to Shiralee - when's the next one then? Still not sure how they got the bill to be that low - I thought we were in for a lot more than that. Very confusing drive back up the M2 - Dunks had eaten the Vindaloo, but the flames kept popping out of Granby's rear end [:^)] Could have done without the M1 north being a big queue though - just managed to swing off at Hemel and go cross country for an hour, good test of the winter tyres with it being minus 3 outside. Thanks again for the great company - totally daft to drive 220 miles for a curry, but it was worth it. Cheers, David & Chrissy
T123VOR Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 HUGE well done to Shiralee for sorting this night out- brilliant!! and a discount too well played I tried something different and it was really nice which is a bonus- however their 'fairly' hot scale is diffferent to mine[] HairyDJ and Chrissy for coming all the way over This morning, however, I have found the 'suprise' from my lemon suprise[][:'(] - but at least it smelt citrussy Shiralee mentioned the dogs which I think would be a great night out too- anyone agree? ~Trevor
HOL Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Big thanks to Sophie, Quentin and Trevor for helping me out last night. Like a plonker I got out to defrost my windows, but the tickover peaked a bit and the Blackjax locked my car Soph, was good enough to drive me home for my spare keys while Quentin and Trevor car sat. Of course I had to do a 40minute detour on the way home afterwards to 'check-it-out' Apart from that, I thought it was a good night. Roll on the next one! I also got that funny vibration as I left the car park!, I could feel the centre LSD binding up. So, how does everyone feel today? I thought Dunks was going to last night?
granby Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 David & Chrissy i think your mad but glad you did make the effort and it was great to have your company [Y] but next time stop looking at my rear end [] Hol glad you got your car sorted, at least it had warmed up for the so called drive home [] Dunks i thought your face was going to match the colour of your car after you had the Vindaloo (or was it the prawn cocktail starter you had) [:@] Trevor at least you found out what the surprise was in the lemon surprise apart from it still being frozen [:^)] Well i'm feeling fine after last night with no after effects [H], will definitely have to do it again and the ideas of going to the dogs or ten pin bowling sound great []
baser999 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Echo everyone elses comments - nice to put faces to names that I'd not met before. Very quiet in the tunnel last night so managed to get a decent run through on the way back over to Leigh on Sea which rounded off the evening nicely - except for that bloody drive back again along the A13.........its so boring, no wonder its known as the darkside lol For those that may be interested I'm happy to organise another day "en France [sn]" - provisionally perhaps looking at July when theres not a lot in the club calender.
granby Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Yeah go on Barry [Y] i might be able to make this one []
baser999 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Yeah go on Barry [Y] i might be able to make this one [] I see that Kruds posted up an invite to a Sussex do on 28 July which limits the number of completely 'free' weekends this side of September - given the costs (shuttle / petrol / shopping etc) and the fact that its a long day it could be difficult to combine such a trip with anything on the same weekend. In the circumstances could I suggest we 'pencil in' Saturday 7 or 14 July in the club diary or is it a bit early?
granby Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 You decide on a date and i'll put it in straight away [Y]
baser999 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 You decide on a date and i'll put it in straight away [Y] Unless you know of anything thats not in the diary yet, could we pencil in Saturday 7 July - the 14th is Bastille Day so the whole of France will be out on the roads, in restaurants etc. Will post a seperate thread which perhaps you could then 'noticeboard ? ' to keep it at the top - if theres an initial response to that being an unsuitable date then perhaps Saturday 18 August as an alternative. Thanks Ian.

Defo avoid Bastille Day, I was there in 2005 and you cannot move anywhere, although the fireworks are good.[]
granby Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 I'll put it down as July 7th, August 18th there may be a few of us away on a trip to the WRC Germany

daniel Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Echo everbody elses comments it was great evening [Y] Dave and Chrissy great to see you guys again[] But 200 miles for a curry you must be mad or realy love curry And as for the vibrations that some of you experienced on the way home,it seems to be a coincidence that you all noticed it as ian left too so this could have been down to the curry working its way through[]

shiralee Posted February 6, 2007 Author Posted February 6, 2007 Fantastic evening and thanks to all who came!!![] Thanks to The Lily Spice for great food and to the Indian Ant & Dec waiters who certainly provided some entertainment all of their own!! Think we should go for the Ten Pin bowling first!! Should be a laugfh and as all of you men are quite competitive ...I think it would be EXTREMELY funny to divide into teams!!![] Think the paintballing is a great idea but one for the Summer as VickyK says!!![]
