micra_wrc Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Squirrel and I headed to the Trossachs for the weekend for some R&R and to bring in the bells in the country.Stayed in Tyndrum on Sat night then took the scenic road to Crainlarich via Oban on the Sun [:|] Stunning scenery, ace roads, great food, comfy accommodation, cheap drink and good welcome and banter with the locals [] some pics below........ Tyndrum Isle of Seil - bridge over the Atlantic Oban Campbeltown road Chasing the rainbows at Inverawe At Crainlarich
gus the bus Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Nice Pics Imy! Happy New Year Love Seil Island and the Atlantic bridge. Brings back memories when we used to rent a house over there when we were in the band for weekend rehearsals. Not been for a while tho[] Gus
micra_wrc Posted January 1, 2007 Author Posted January 1, 2007 Gus, we decided to stop off at the Tigh na Truish Inn (House of Trousers) just at the bridge for a cup of tea and I had some of their homemade Baileys cheesecake. It was bucketing down and I was like "I wish the sun would come out cos I want to take a picture of the scoob against the bridge" and lo and behold...... the skies cleared and the rain stopped [] hard to believe its the Atlantic Ocean under the bridge
gus the bus Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Ah the Tigh na Truish Inn-very friendly folk in there. Were you not over the limit with the Baileys cheescake[] I have flown over that on flights to/from my other home in Canada and the bridge looks totally amazing & quite strange from the air. The arch of the bridge looks huge from a few thousand feet. Best views of Scotland you can get heading down the west coast and into Glasgow from the air[Y] Fantastic!!!. Other than if your oot n aboot in yer scoob obviously[] Gus
