micra_wrc Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 will there be a fix to avoid scrolling up to the top of the page to get to other sections of the forum? I dont like clicking the Back button cos then the thread I just left is still highlighted with New Posts. am finding myself doing this on other sites then realise halfway up the page that i could have got back from the links at the bottom of the page, leaving me dithering whether to continue scrolling up or to Page Down to get to the clicky [:S]
st3ph3n Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Control + home is a good way to get to the top of the page for now.
z1000 Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 I'm finding it very uneasy on the eyes and the individual posts seem very big meaning lots of scrolling and the pics are a pain to view and it definatley seems quieter. Ctrl and home may be ok for the computer literate but for one finger typists it nigh on impossible.
dougster Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 "By your greyed-out avatar, you don't appear to be an SIDC Member. If that is the case then you have no right to criticize, demand or ask for anything" You were saying Andy...................[*-)] I've seen plenty of non members criticise, be demanding and ask what is going on. (some even signed a wee form.........[8-)][]) How is the club expected to get new members signed up viewing this pile of junk? Why don't you tell us what's the latest then Andy?
andy Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Quote Why don't you tell us what's the latest then Andy? Hmmmm. Well okay then.... There was a coach crash on the M4/M25 Interchange. Two people were killed and several injured. The driver was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Eight Pitbulls were seized by Police on Merseyside. This story perturbs me somewhat as it's taken the death of a little girl for the Police to finally take action. Probably too busy sitting on Motorway flyovers with their LTI 20:20 Dodgyscopes scamming motorists. There's a bit of trouble brewing over our Forces personnel having to live in outdated, sub-standard housing - many of which are pre-fab (though not of the sprout variety - I don't think) houses built by the US Army in the 1950s. The founder of Amazon has been showing off his rocket designed to take the public into space. Personally, I found the Squirrel's Rice Rocket far more interesting. The Little Chef restaurants on the A90 near Brechin and on the A80 at Cumbernauld have shut down. Do you just want headlines or should I go more in-depth?

dougster Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 We seem to be pulling them out the shadows people........................... I have never been frightened of any internet terrorism, personal abuse or the old favourite "MIND GAMES". [] "PMSL" Is that the best you and your "new guy" can come up with Phil?
corsa Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Maybe a more constructive and informative reply by our chairman would have been sufficiant instead of just laughing. I find the new forum very user UNFRIENDLY and having to scroll along/down/up/down along to see a feckin picture is just a joke. I for one am a fully paid up member and have a grey avatar so whats all that about!!! Scoobynet 2 i think here now.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 The remedy for me is simple.......... ditch the SIDC True Grip and make it an emailable PDF for members.invest the money saved from publishing into the forum which let's face it, is where we do most of our communcation ( poor or otherwise)if the organisers are volunteers, that fine but surely the admin / ball-ache of not doing a magazine would reduce their grief ? The only reasons I will be renewing this year are :- dealer & parts discountinsurance dealstrack day saving ( although I'll be lucky to track once a year)I feel I ought to support the volunteers to a certain extent to benefit all The forum is 75% okay but search and advertising is PPP ( pi$$ poor performance) Cheers Cal

Well forgive me for laughing at a funny post!! You ask me to make informative and constructive replies to a post titled New Forum a pile of dooo doo !!! We are constantly reviewing the software we are using and looking at all the options available to the club We were rather forced into this quick upgrade to resolve IE7 issues and have apologised for the lack of notice

Thanks for your support even through a difficult period which we are all trying to over come to give a better enviroment for you guys. Unfortunatley not all share your views Cal.
